How to Invest in Stocks

02:07
Sign up to start trading today: http://bit.ly/2d12d8S Want to buy stock in a company? That's great! Investing is an important part of building your net worth. This tutorial covers how to invest in stocks for beginners using a discount online financial service (or brokerage) firm. You can click here to open up a free account, or check out some other links we've provided below. You can use an online firm instead of dealing directly with a stockbroker or with the individual companies, and having an account gives you the opportunity to invest in stocks, mutual funds, and more. Your first step is to open up the account and deposit the amount of money you would like to invest. Next, you will search for the stocks you'd like to buy in the list of stocks available for sale. Here's what a stock quote looks like. It shows that it's selling for about $25 per share, so if you have $500 in your account, you can buy about 20 shares. Depending on your brokerage firm, you will also have to pay a one-time commission fee for the trade, which will be about $7 - $10 dollars. If you're going to buy the stock and hold it, you'll probably want to place a "Market" order. This means you will buy the stock immediately at the best available current price. Next you'll hit "Preview" to make sure the order is the way you want it, then click "Place Order." That's it! You're done. The brokerage firm will execute your trade, and you will get a confirmation, usually later that day. Here are some guidelines to follow when you're buying stocks. 1. Only use funds that you've set aside for investing. While trading stocks is investing, not gambling, you'll need to understand and be comfortable with stock price fluctuation. In other words, don't invest money you need to live on. 2. Do your research. Don't feel pressured to make a stock trade until you're ready. Online brokerage firms will provide you with educational resources to help you make informed decisions. 3. Start small. You have to start somewhere, but you don't necessarily have to start with a $10,000 trade or with some Berkshire Hathaway stock. Warren Buffett had to start somewhere, and so do you. Take it slow and try to learn something new every day. That's it for your first stock trade! So you know, this video is for explanation purposes only and does not constitute a recommendation or guarantee of earnings. Now, go forth and prosper!

[Robert Kiyosaki] 4 Assets that make people Rich

02:53
Subscribe for more great videos, or check out: www.SRPL.net ========================== My poor dad always told me to me go to school and get a high-paying job. That’s not creating wealth. That's a job. My rich dad on the other hand always says work for assets. There are basically 4 asset classes that makes a person rich. Number 1 is Business. The richest young guys today start companies. Some great examples of this are Facebook, Google, Apple, etc. Number 2 is real estate. What my rich dad taught me is the combination of being an entrepreneur in business and an entrepreneur in real estate. Now due to this combination, I pay no tax and I make a lot more money. The 3rd asset is Paper. Savings in gold, papers like stocks bonds mutual funds are liquid. You make a mistake, you can get in and out real quick. The last asset is Commodities and this is why I own oil because in the U.S. if you deal in oil, you get tax breaks. So oil is very profitable. ========================== Subscribe for more great videos, or check out: www.SRPL.net

Futures Market Explained

04:27
Farmers use various tools to control the many risks in agriculture. Watching the weather influences when they plant or harvest. Buying crop insurance and selecting farm bill safety net programs helps protect them from crop devastation. But they can also manage some of the threat posed by volatile market prices by participating in the futures market. Farmers can get a feel for how that works if they play Commodity Classic, an online teaching tool that uses fictitious bushels of grain in a fake futures market. But here at Harvest Public Media, we wanted to better understand how the futures market helps both producers and users of a major commodity, such as corn. And how the benefits trickle down to regular food consumers. Here’s what we learned.

Long-Term Investments Definition - What are Long Term Investments?

02:13
Long-term investments definition including break down of areas in the definition. Analyzing the definition of key term often provides more insight about concepts. Long-term investments can be defined as: Long-term assets not used in operating activities such as notes receivable and investment in stock and bonds. Long-term investments refer to what many of us think of when we talk about investments, investments like stock and bonds. The term investment can be confusing because investment can mean different things in different contacts. For example, all assets are an investment in some way because the reason the company has assets is for those asset to help generate revenue in the future, the company investing in asset in order to receive a return. Long-term investment is a narrower definition of investment. How to Invest in ETFs

04:27
In my last video, I already decided which ETFs I will be investing in. But how do I go about actually purchasing them? Well, you need to choose a broker. I use an online, commission-free broker called SelfWealth who only have a flat $9.50 fee per trade. That’s a pretty good deal. I’ve already decided that I am investing in these four ETFs – 25% in each of VAS, VGS, VGAD, and VAE. Just say I have $100,000 in total to invest. There’s a couple of schools of thought here. I could buy them all on the same day in a lump-sum, $25000 in each. That would have the benefit of saving on brokerage – four trades for a total of $38. If the market were to go up, which on average it does, then it would be best for me to invest in this manner. However, what if unbeknownst to me, the market is actually at a peak now? (A real possibility based on recent events). Then I would be investing all my money into a falling market. So probably the better option in this case would be to put my money in over time, say $5000 every month – a process known as dollar-cost averaging. This assumes that the average investor, like myself, can’t time the market, so there’s no use trying. For me, I started with an initial investment in January of $5000 in each of my ETFs. The reason I picked $5000 is that that’s a fairly good trade-off with regard to brokerage. $9.50 of $5000 is only 0.19% – a fairly reasonable one-off fee. I wouldn’t recommend lower than $5000, but that’s up to you. Then, every month thereafter, I put in a one-off $5000 investment into my lowest value ETF. So in February, just say the ETFs have the following values, then I would put $5000 into VGAD. In March, I would put $5000 into VAS as it has the lowest value. I choose the ETF with the lowest overall value for two reasons. First, it keeps my portfolio reasonably well-balanced. If I keep putting money into say the highest performing ETF, then very quickly my 25% target allocation would go out the window. Secondly, buying the lowest price ETF will give the most bang for my buck, that is, I’ll be able to buy more units on average. So each month, I’m planning to invest $5000 into the lowest value fund until I’ve fully invested my $100,000. From that point onwards, I will invest $5000 whenever it becomes available. So maybe once every three or four months depending on how much I can save. Although mathematically speaking, a lump-sum investment may be the better option, Vanguard’s Robin Bowerman said it well in defence of dollar-cost averaging. “Dollar-cost averaging provides a means to resist any temptation to try to time the market. Attempts at market timing often result in following the investment herd by buying when prices are high while selling when prices are low. As humans we are not wired that way and behavioral economics research tells us that as investors we often 'misbehave' ... that is why dollar-cost averaging makes sense in tough/volatile markets. It keeps people in the game." Moneychimp.com also said it well, “If the market dips, people will be happy because dollar-cost averaging will be saving them money, and if the market goes up, people will be happy regardless.” So from a psychological perspective, dollar-cost-averaging makes sense. Now for today’s take-home message: 1. Choose a low-cost broker such as SelfWealth. 2. Invest regularly. Invest your money over time to make the most of dollar-cost averaging. That doesn’t mean you have to invest every week or month. Once a quarter is also a good option. 3. Don’t try to time the market. The majority of people get it wrong. And that leads to my final point: 4. Only buy, never sell! ETFs are for investment. If you want to trade frequently, become a day trader. We’re here to make money over the long-term. Sure, there will be some days where the markets go down and you’ll feel like you want to sell everything. But don’t! Keep hold of your ETFs and ultimately, you’ll reap the rewards. What If You Could Partner With A Billionaire. Here’s How...

53:44
Selling products to the masses used to be a lot more difficult than it is now. If you think about it, before the internet businesses only had these 2 options: 1. Open a physical store 2. Mail-order catalog But in 1994, Jeff created Amazon. Not only did his website make him the richest person alive, it also helped everyday people offer their products to millions of other people online. Learn how to sell products online using Amazon at https://tailopez.com/amazonYT Amazon isn’t the only way to sell products online, but I’m going to share why I think it’s one of the best ones (especially if you're new). I’ll start by walking you through the 3 things you need to start your own ecommerce business: #1. BUILD YOUR WEBSITE To sell products online, you’ll need a website. One website builder a lot of people use right now is Shopify. However, some of the downsides about Shopify include: you’ll need a good design (called a template), the best add-ons for increasing sales, and constant tweaks to improve your site’s conversion rate. The costs of these extra resources quickly add up. And if, and when, you start to scale your online store, it’ll eventually require more expensive tools. But with Amazon, things are much easier. The entire website process is already done and ready for you! All you have to do is set up your account, upload images/videos, and write a product description. Even better, with Amazon you’ll have some of the world’s top conversion rate optimization experts working on improving the sales of your products, all year long. #2. GAIN TRUST FROM CUSTOMERS Sure, you can build your own website and try to get sales by yourself. But the reality is, chances of someone entering their credit card info into a site they’ve never seen or heard of before are very slim. One quick tip for solving this challenge is to leverage other sites and brands. For example, if you get your product featured on a well-known publication, you can use their logo on your website. Getting others to talk about your product usually costs a lot of money. There’s an easier way however -- simply list your product on Amazon. Amazon has 100s of millions of daily customers and better yet, these customers trust Amazon’s brand and already have their credit card info entered in their system -- ready to buy in one click! #3. GET PEOPLE TO VIEW YOUR PRODUCT In order to get page views for your product, you’ll want to rank in searches (SEO), use paid advertising effectively (PPC ads), and write badass product descriptions (copywriting). You’ll also want to invest in building a brand -- instead of just selling products. Not to sound cocky, but I know a thing or two about building a brand using social media. Forbes referred to me as one of the top social media influencers to follow and my online videos have more than 1.6 billion minutes watched. My social media has better engagement than that of most billion-dollar brands -- including Coca Cola, Louis Vuitton, or Adidas. Now here’s where things get interesting: If you combine social media marketing + Amazon (the world’s most-used online retail store), you’re executing one of the quickest ways to create automated passive income. Even if you were to apply only 10% of what I teach about social media and branding, you’ll be smarter than 99% of Amazon sellers! When it comes to the specific skills you need for Amazon, I’m in no way claiming myself an expert. This is why I’m bringing in several of my friends and business partners to teach in my new Amazon Sales Blueprint program. Learn more about the Amazon Sales Blueprint at https://tailopez.com/amazonYT In the Amazon Sales Blueprint, I’m bringing in multiple Amazon selling experts to teach you their strategies. One of the first teachers in the program, for example, is a female entrepreneur who generated $500,000 gross with about 20% margins on Amazon. That’s over 6 figures -- in one month! Because this is a brand new program, I’m keeping the cost for getting in extremely low. On the flipside... because I want to encourage you to get in now (instead of tomorrow or next week), I will be raising the price every day. If you’re at least mildly interested in selling on Amazon: Visit this page to learn more - https://tailopez.com/amazonYT And if you want me and my friends to help you, I urge you to invest in the Amazon Sales Blueprint -- TODAY (so you can get the best deal possible). Tai Lopez P.S. My new Amazon Sales Blueprint shares proven strategies for selling on Amazon — AND — social media marketing techniques for dominating the competition. Is Universal Life Insurance A Good Idea?

08:13
In this video, Dave Ramsey talks to Cynthia in Charleston. She has an indexed universal life policy with a death benefit and wants Dave to explain if that’s a good way to go. Dave says not to keep it because of all the fees it will constantly accrue, plus the insurance is expensive. It’s hard to take those investments apart and compare them — when you get investments and insurance together, the investments do not perform as they should. If you went straight to the mutual funds, you won’t have to pay the fees that come along with insurance. Usually, the insurance side factors in ART, annual rate of return. The older you get, the more it costs to cover you. And, because its more expensive to cover you each year, less and less goes to investments in this product. What Dave recommends is Level Term, meaning you pay the same amount each month, which you can get by going https://www.daveramsey.com/recommends/term-life-insurance and shopping quotes for 10-12x your income. Once your term life policy in in place, cancel the other policy and invest the difference. Even if you have coverage at work, make sure you have some outside of work in case of a medical event that would make you uninsurable in the marketplace. The Dave Ramsey Show channel will change the way you experience one of the most popular radio shows in the country! Dr. Anton Treuer (03-22-2012) "Historical Trauma"

01:30:52
Keynote speaker Dr. Anton Treuer closes out Inver Hills Community College's Student/Faculty Conference. This year's theme was Flourishing in a World of Disasters. In this talk Dr. Treuer discusses some of the disasters visited upon American Indians, as well as how the effects of those disasters continue to linger even today. What makes this talk so powerful is that it does not simply attempt to lay blame, rather, Dr. Treuer offers possible solutions for growth and the possibility of authentic global flourishing. (NOTE: the camera needed reset every 30 minutes, which is why there are three "two second" breaks. NO content was lost in those, and the battery died right as Dr. Treuer cited Chris Rock and how racist does one have to be to turn down a day off of work just because it celebrates a black person. The talk ended right after that, so nothing of import was lost.) Thank you to all that helped make this happen!
