It’s about taking action in ways that will lead to the greatest return. Having worked intimately with hundreds of organizations over the past 10 years as a trusted advisor, I get to see what really works. It’s not what you might expect. In this video, I’m going to share five insanely simple ideas about how to increase sales. Check it out: 1. Toss out the features and benefits. Your prospects are sick of hearing all about your products and services. Instead, simply focus on the results you achieve, as this is what your prospects actually care about. 2. Ask for one referral each day. Now I know that may sound like a lot of work, but realistically it’s no more than 10 minutes of work each day. Plus, there is no easier way to grow your sales. Just think about the math: Asking for one referral or introduction each day means five per week; that’s 250 introduction-asks per year! 3. Host a private client event. People love to come to exclusive events. Invite both your top clients and some of your top prospects. You’ll see that your top prospects will actually end up doing your selling for you. 4. Create client case studies. There’s nothing—and I mean nothing—more compelling to a prospect than an example of your past success. Develop case studies that focus on results you’ve created with your clients—not so much on the deliverables, but on what you actually accomplished. 5. Use a proposal with three options. Stop proposing just one option. This is the reason that you’re getting shopped around on price and limiting the possible size of a sale. Your prospects want options, so use proposals with three of them, ranging from a low-end, least expensive option, all the way up to the premium option with massive added value. By doing this, you’ll give your prospects the perspective to see what’s out there, and you’ll also give them the opportunity to choose the highest-end option with the most value—and that means the biggest sale for you. Here’s an interesting stat: the National Retail Federation shows that 40% of shoppers start their holiday shopping before Halloween. So if you’re not prepared for the holiday season by October 1st, you’re missing out! But what is the best online marketing strategy for the holidays? Here are 7 tips to get you ready for the holiday season: 1 - Figure out what holidays you’d like to run promotions for and what those promotions should be (such as a coupon for 25% off, or buy 1 get 1 free, etc…). It’s ideal to plan this annually for the entire year and then adjust as you go. But for the main holiday season you really need to be prepared by September 1st. 2 - Create leaderboard banners for your website to promote the holiday. You can also create landing pages for your website if needed, but in many cases, the leaderboard banner will do the job just fine. 3 - Write the ad copy and design all the ads for the holiday promo. Match your leaderboard banner design. Design ads for all your major marketing channels (Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc..) 4 - Design email template for the holiday promo. How To Increase Ebay Sales - $800 Month To $800 Week
Youtubers Craigslist Hunter, Harts Motor Company & Scavenger Life are great example of folks listing items worth more than $30. They have great videos showing what they find in their area. They're all my ebay heroes! My biggest recommendation is digging through the completed listings looking for "clothes" or "shoes" or "electronics" or whatever you like to sell in the most broad terms. Put the price point between $35-75 to start with and become familiar reoccurring brands/models/designs. There's a few other elements that helped us along the way but those two tips were the biggest help! Side note: Our sales can dramatically drop in the summer while going up to $1600 a week in the fall and winter. But $800 weekly is our average when listing consistently. We currently have about 750 items in store. If we list 10 items a week our sales can go as low as $350 a week. Work + Strategy = $$$$

Tip #1: Focus on one product. You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well. I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles. She has one product, and that's it. Do you know how much she makes? Well into the seven figures per year. You don't need a lot of products to do well. If you're on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that'll help make it, so you don't have to worry about the logistics. If you're only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point. #2: Upsell and downsell. It's easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you. If you're selling insoles that make women's shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one. That's an easy upsell. Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities. #3: Advertise. Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing. Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you're not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I'll answer you, and I'll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign. #4: Leverage subscriptions. Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you're selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup? If you're using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription. #5: Recover abandoned shoppers. In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned. So, you need to make them come back and buy. How do you do that? Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails. When someone's buying from you, you're probably collecting their name and email first before you're showing the credit card information. You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving? Put in your name and email and I'll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon. #6: Optimize your checkout process. Baymard did a study on checkout pages. They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that's not million, that's billion with a B, extra dollars. Don't forget to optimize your checkout process. The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields. Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times? That's unnecessary. Keep it simple. The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step. #7: Leverage a referral program. If someone's buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution. Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy. You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys. The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral. Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales. Leave a comment below and say, hey, here's my e-commerce store. When it comes to generating more sales for your business there are nearly an endless supply of strategies and tactics available to try. For example, you could cold call potential prospects, but this shifts the power balance and makes you look needy, not to mention, isn’t a whole lot of fun. Or you could slash your prices, but this devalues what you have to offer, and destroys your profit margins. Or you could run frequent sales every week, or every month, but this teaches your customers and clients to wait for the next sale rather than to act now. So as you can see, not all strategies are created equal. Which is why on today’s episode we’re going to cover 3 tips to increase your sales, without discounting, or damaging your business and brand. 1. Events (Scarcity) The first way to provide a rapid cash injection and influx of sales is to create an event around your product, service, or business. Events capitalize on the powerful psychological trigger of scarcity by allowing you to ethically and honestly put a real deadline on whatever promotion you’re offering. 2. Upgrades (Exclusivity) Discounting works. But the repeated, and sometimes abused discounting of products and services does nothing to help build long term value and respect in your market. Aside from the fact that we subconsciously associate price with value, it also teaches your customers to wait for the next sale rather than act now. This is why rather than discounting, I suggest upgrading. 3. Rewards (Reciprocity) Running right alongside events and upgrades are rewards which are offered for no other reason than to say thanks! And to promote new sales of course. Unlike an upgrade which is offered upon purchase a reward is offered with no requirement or stated expectation of purchase. Aside from generating goodwill, this strategy also naturally instills an element of reciprocity in the receiver where they feel out of balance until the favor is returned. - Long Term Brand Value Vs Short Term Sales The takeaway point is this. Of all the strategies to increase sales in restaurant, this one is my favourite. This strategy involves working with your existing customers, rather than using advertising to gain new customers. However, it is not just about focusing on increase restaurant sales, but also about focusing on your profit margins and the amount of profit that your restaurant business makes too. The strategy involved is focusing on your average customer spend or your average transaction value. I wrote an article on average transaction value here: https://www.bowraven.com/average-transaction-value/ This article on average transaction value may be worth reading in conjunction with this article about how to increase restaurant sales. In the video I run through the idea of focusing on your average customer spend. But also, explain how to calculate this number by looking at total sales over a given period, and dividing this sales total by the number of transactions over the same period. The video goes on to demonstrate that by increasing your average customer spend by a small amount, how this has a dramatic impact on the sales of your restaurant. But more importantly, the profits of your restaurant. In the video an example restaurant business with current sales of £125,458, with a current average transaction value of £49.50, the sales are shown to increase by £39,285 by increasing the average customer spend to £65. What is also demonstrated is the impact this increase in restaurant sales had on profits. In this example, the restaurant profits increased by 102%, which is more than doubled! Profits of the restaurant business went from £23,302 to £47,069. Of course, I need to add a disclaimer here. Not all businesses are the same. This is an example business and is a demonstration of what could be earned as a result of implementing this strategy, combined with using our Increase Profit Software. Here's an example of how two sellers, Kim and Jack, priced their consulting services projects at opposite ends of the spectrum. One had highly profitable sales, the other did not. Their typical project ranged from $60,000 to $80,000. Kim's projects nearly always came in on the low end of the range. She typically quoted far less planning time, travel and implementation costs than the project actually required. She was concerned about her prospect's budgets and felt unethical about asking for so much money. Her clients were always asking her to reduce the costs. On the other hand, Jack's projects were usually the highest priced in the company. He had no qualms asking for what he felt was a reasonable fee for what needed to get done. And, he often padded the budget a bit to cover requests that would expand the project's scope. His clients never blinked when they saw the price. So why was there such a difference? Kim truly didn't understand the business value of her work. She just knew it cost a whole lot for their services and she wanted to be a worthy steward of her clients' budget. Jack felt entirely differently. Over the years, he'd seen the impact that his work had on his client's top line sales. He knew that what he was asking was a pittance compared to the value that they were receiving. And, because he knew that, he could confidently ask for more. Number Three, Promote Wisely Often only a small discount will spark consumer attention if promoted effectively. Create a sense of urgency with a limited time offer. Bundle products and services to create value for money while selling more at the same time. Remain flexible when bundling so that customers can pick and choose the products and services apply to them. Be sure to set clear goals and targets for the most effective results. Number Four, Be Competitive Lastly, if you want to increase sales, look to your competition. What makes your product or service stand out? Once you have an answer, make sure your potential customers know it too. Beating the competition doesn’t necessarily mean lowering your price. If you have the superior product, make sure your customers know why. Proven value is more important than any price tag. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change.
