However, pricing decisions inconsistent with a firm’s competitive strategy can be dangerous, which is why companies should address the topic with much caution and attention. There are three important components we need to distinguish in this process. The amount a product costs to be produced, the price customers pay to buy the product, and the value they acquire from the product. If a company aims at cost leadership, then the focus will be costs (trying to keep them as low as possible). The company must offer a price slightly lower than the one offered by competitors. Conversely, if a firm’s strategy is differentiation, then the critical factor will be the value delivered to customers. Costs are not that important, as companies offering a differentiated product can charge more. So, pricing must be coherent with competitive strategy, although sometimes it is tempting to adjust prices to stimulate short-term gains of market share and increases of sales. Top-level managers have to stay focused on the big picture and make coherent decisions in line with the firm’s long-term strategy.

Best Analytical Techniques for a Pricing Study
Pricing expert Scott Laing, SVP at ORC International, shares best practices for conducting a pricing study and provides an overview of ORC International's approach to pricing. (0:07) Best analytical techniques for a pricing study (0:45) ORC International's approach to pricing (1:12) Importance of delivery through "what-if" analysis (1:42) Pricing engagements tailored for distinct situations There is no one-size-fits-all, no single best analytical technique to pricing. Effective pricing has to be derived from your specific business objectives and your market situation. The single biggest mistake we see people making is starting with the choice of technique. We are very pleased to be rolling out a more comprehensive approach to pricing at ORC International. There are two marked differences from a lot of traditional pricing survey based research, the first is ORC's consultative bias. We focus on client objectives that allow us to marry the right pricing technique that reflect your distinct market situation and goals. The second, is the way we do delivery. Most delivery of market research involves simple reports dropped off, but that's not nearly enough. Pricing requires a whole range of "what-if" analysis to truly understand how to set the right strategy or right price level. To address distinct pricing needs, we designed a suite of tailored pricing engagements that match methods with specific business goals and situations, including market pricing, price check, product line and portfolio pricing. For more information on how ORC International can help with your pricing challenges, please email [email protected] or visit http://www.orcinternational.com

How To Use Google Trends, 2019 Update! Market Research To Compare Keywords, Topics & Niches, Fast!
How to use Google Trends for internet marketers... The 2019 edition! Learn how to leverage Google's data to compare trends in keywords, niches and topic ideas in seconds. Use Google Trends for your market research to get a competitive edge on your competition, every time! Google trends was officially launched in May of 2006 and has become one of the world's most powerful niche and market research tool available free to you, every day! Whether you are trying to compare keyword search volume over time, or identifying which niches are currently trending to focus your marketing efforts, with a few clicks of the mouse you will be able to visually identify what is trending in the mindset of your target audience. If you want more help with keyword research and how to create your master keyword list, watch this video next: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eofkzs0fVOA Why is it important to know what is trending in the mass consciousness of your target market? Easy... People turn to Google's search bar for their deepest and most urgent questions. The questions they search and the phrases they use to create a massive dataset that begins to paint a picture of the biggest desires within your audience. Once you understand what the trending desires and questions are within your target market, you are able to create niche websites, articles, videos, podcast episodes, products and services to help your audience achieve their true desires. You see, desire is not created within your audience... Their desires are already there. Your job as an internet marketer is to tap into their desires, answer their questions, help them avoid their fears and ultimately achieve their goals and desires. When you are able to see what questions, desires and fears are trending, in nearly real-time, you have a very clear picture of what content and products are being requested by your audience. The Google Trends tool is the key to unlock this mystery behind your audience's deepest desires! This video shows you how to use Google Trends in 2018, quickly and efficiently so you can get the information you need, fast... And so you can get back to the 'work' that is creating the content or products. We start by looking at how to use Google Trends as a niche research tool, starting with the 'Vegan Dog Food' niche example I've used in several other videos. If you are at this point, working on niche research, trying to find your main niche, be sure to check out my playlist on niche research that shows how to use other tools to do even more niche research: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIZxKpnesTw&list=PL0sOKzn__yK3bPvVRts4CXOtPciYcu7iZ From here we move on to some big trending topics around Bitcoin and Ethereum looking at how the search volumes even track the price of these coins, to show how deep the Google Trends data truly goes. From here you will learn how to get additional topic ideas and keyword ideas from the Trends tool, too. The third example is how to identify seasonal trends, patterns and potential challenges for niches that have very seasonal buying seasons. Before entering a niche you need to know if it is consistent throughout the year or if it has low points through the year. If there are low points, all is not lost... You will see how to find counter-seasonal topics or products to fill in your low season through this tool! Finally, we look at trends in diet patterns, from the New Year's bump to the long-term patterns in lifestyle diets vs. diet fads. This gives a clear picture of what kinds of products people would purchase and what times of years would have the best chance to sell those products. If you have a list in the health and wellness space, you could leverage this information to know exactly what day each year would be the most profitable to launch a specific product offer, whether it is your product or an affiliate offer. Again, I believe it is through more effective and consistent market research that you unlock the opportunity to be more strategic than your competitors. Most people don't take the time to do the research... If you habituate the process of learning how to use Google Trends and the keyword research tool, you will find yourself gaining rankings in your blog, your YouTube channel and you will experience more conversions. My other favorite research process for niche research and content marketing is keyword research. You can get my full keyword research video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_FfdjNOgpQ Once you have the keywords and have created your content, you need to know how to implement those phrases into your content marketing... How To Do Market Research – Basic Online Market Research For Your Business
How great would it be to know what your customers wanted before they even asked for it? Can you imaging what it would do for your business and your reputation to always have a collection of highly sought after products or services? You’d quickly become the go-to expert in your field and customers would know they could count on you to solve their problems quickly and easily. And that’s why on this episode of we’re talking all about market research, and I’ll give you 5 ways to know what your customers want before they even do. #1 Google Trends Google trends allows you to track which keywords are increasing in popularity and provides suggestions for other terms that are rising in search volume. This is a hugely valuable tool and for the most part is largely ignored, which means that by using it you’re gaining valuable insights that your competitors are likely not using. #2 Google Keyword Planner To use the keyword planner you first need to sign up for a free Google Adwords account. Even if you’re not planning on advertising it’s still a good thing to have. From there you can access their free Keyword Planner, type in a keyword and receive not only the number of searches for that keyword, but also a list of suggested keywords that people are looking for online each and every month. #3 Facebook Insights The best way to use Facebook Insights is to post a variety of different content to your business page (all related to your business of course) and see which posts get the most engagement (such as likes, shares, and comments). From there you can determine what type of content your audience is most interested in so you can start to create more just like it, and eventually, products and services around those subjects. #4 Twitter Insights Twitter audiences allow you to really drill down on the types of things your customers and followers are interested in. As an example, for my account I can see that my audience is made up mostly of people interested in entrepreneurship, marketing, travel, and technology. #5 Google Alerts The final piece of our customer understanding puzzle comes again from the search engine giant, Google. Google Alerts allows you to monitor what’s happening with your customers right now. The way to use Google Alerts is to enter a keyword that you would like to track into the search bar at the top of the page, then Google will email you when this keyword appears online. You can use this to track your businesses name, the industry you’re in, your own name, your competitors, or pretty much anything else you can think of. Customer Insights Using even one of these tools can help you gain a better understanding of your customers. But when you combine all 5, you’re really able to create a clear and compelling picture of your customers wants, needs, and behaviors. And the better you understand them, the better you’re able to come up with value providing services and solutions to their problems. ► Download your free copy of The One Page Marketing Plan Here – http://adamerhart.com/marketingplan #LINKS Website: http://adamerhart.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/adamerhart Facebook: http://facebook.com/officialadamerhart Instagram: http://instagram.com/adamerhart Snapchat: snapadamerhart

Predicting Stock Price movement statistically
Predicting Stock Price movement statistically. Here we use historical data to predict the movement of stock price for next day. It is completely mathematically valid. The mathematical model of Brownian motion has several real-world applications. Stock market fluctuations are often cited, although Benoit Mandelbrot rejected its applicability to stock price movements in part because these are discontinuous. This is a momentum indicator used in technical analysis, which compares the stock's closing price to its price over the course of a particular time frame. During an upward trend in the market, a stock's share price will close near its high (highest price traded), and when in a downward-trending market, the security's price will close near the low (lowest price traded). This may determine whether a stock is overbought or oversold, thus predicting a possible momentum change. http://www.garguniversity.com Check out Ebook "Mind Math" from Dr. Garg https://www.amazon.com/MIND-MATH-Learn-Math-Fun-ebook/dp/B017QEIF18

Marketing is involved in everything from the market research that goes into determining what products consumers are looking for, to the message that is transmitted to consumers to inform them about a product and even persuade them to purchase it. In between those stages, marketing also plays a prominent role in determining how the product should look, designing the packaging that will enclose the product, deciding whether to sell the product through traditional retailers or entirely online, and establishing a price point that is not only attractive to consumers but allows gives the business the opportunity to be profitable. Now when most people think of marketing they often think of advertising, which is completely understandable given we are are constantly exposed to advertisements at home, at the office, and even during our commutes. Although advertising is a component of marketing it certainly does not explain the entire subject. In fact, advertising is simply one of the four different types of promotion, and promotion is one of the four main elements of marketing. So you can see that advertising, like the other marketing elements, merely plays a role in helping businesses create, communicate, and deliver a single unified message to potential customers. So how does a businesses create, communicate, and deliver value to its customers? Although there are many variables at work, a business can increase the probability of success by creating an effective and consistent marketing mix. Often referred to as the 4 P's, the market mix is a collection of four elements that outline the strategy for how a business intends to reach its customers. These four elements include product, place, promotion, and price. The product includes the tangible product or intangible service that will be used to fulfill a customer need or want. The features of a product, its physical form, packaging, warranties, and even after-sale service are all included under the product strategy. Place includes how a business intends to get products from the location they are produced to where they can ultimately be consumed by consumers. Place is often referred to as distribution since we are dealing with logistics. However, place not only includes the physical distribution of the product but also the channel through which it will be sold. Promotion involves establishing the most effective method for communicating with its customers about the various products that it sells. Promotion is primarily meant to communicate, inform, and persuade. An effective promotion strategy, like the other marketing mix elements, depends upon a businesses knowledge of its target customer. This knowledge allows a business to select the best way to communicate with its core audience and ultimately increase the success of its communications. The last element of the market mix is price. Price is the easiest marketing mix element to alter from a technical sense, however it is the most difficult thing to change. The reason is that altering the price of a product affects what consumers pay for that product, and a business can only charge as much as the market is willing to pay for a product. Technically a business can charge whatever price it wants, but that does not mean that consumers have to pay that price. Like the other marketing mix elements, price can send a message to consumers. For example, many believe that maintaining low prices is the best method to attract consumers. Although this can be an effective pricing strategy for certain items, it can also confuse consumers. For example, Tiffany & Co. sells expensive jewelry and is known for high quality and is one of the most recognizable brands. Because Tiffany & Co is known for quality and maybe even exclusivity, it wouldn't benefit from a low price point. Dealing with the psychological aspect of pricing, consumers tend to view less expensive items as cheap in quality compared to their more expensive counterparts. Although this doesn't always hold to be true, businesses are very aware of the impact that price can have on the perceptions of consumers.

In hindsight, it should’ve been a huge success since it was a vacation rental website. Yep, like AirBNB or VRBO. And with the first mover advantage (I started it in 1999) I should’ve been primed for success. But I wasn’t. And 6 months later the project was dead. So what did I do wrong? I didn’t understand the market. I just coded. No research. No strategy. Maybe you’ve made the same mistake. The worst part is I didn’t learn my lesson after that company failed. I did it again with NBHost.com - a web hosting company. We spent $$$ buying servers and software with NO understanding of the market. That shifted when I started Spheric Technologies, the company that eventually worked. What changed? I decided to hire a business student from a local university to help me conduct market research. They told me EXACTLY where my ideal customers were located, and some of the major challenges they were currently facing. That company grew by 150% year over year to over 30 employees before being acquired 4 years later. So that’s what I want share in this weeks video... ... how to conduct world-class market research at little to no cost, that’s not boring to read and is quick to act on. In this video, I go over 3 strategies to help you research your market faster so that you can move on to the fun stuff with greater clarity (pun intended)! 1. Leverage University Students 2. Hire Researchers Online 3. Past Failed/Successful Founders Don’t make the same mistake so many founders - including myself - made when I first got started. Learn who your ideal customer is, what the competitive set looks like and the ideal way to reach out to them. Get some help! Here’s to learning like a pro! With gratitude, – Dan Don't forget to share this entrepreneurial advice with your friends, so they can learn too: https://youtu.be/KCEWgq8S9gM ===================== ABOUT DAN MARTELL ===================== “You can only keep what you give away.” That’s the mantra that’s shaped Dan Martell from a struggling 20-something business owner in the Canadian Maritimes (which is waaay out east) to a successful startup founder who’s raised more than $3 million in venture funding and exited not one... not two... but three tech businesses: Clarity.fm, Spheric and Flowtown. You can only keep what you give away. That philosophy has led Dan to invest in 33+ early stage startups such as Udemy, Intercom, Unbounce and Foodspotting. It’s also helped him shape the future of Hootsuite as an advisor to the social media tour de force. An activator, a tech geek, an adrenaline junkie and, yes, a romantic (ask his wife Renee), Dan has recently turned his attention to teaching startups a fundamental, little-discussed lesson that directly impacts their growth: how to scale. You’ll find not only incredible insights in every moment of every talk Dan gives - but also highly actionable takeaways that will propel your business forward. Because Dan gives freely of all that he knows. After all, you can only keep what you give away. Why did Facebook stock price drop? Is FB a stock to buy now? What is the key thing to watch? Revenue deceleration Am I buying the stock now? Facebook stock price (NASDAQ: FB) questions are running all over the internet in these days. What I want to discuss here is: why is Facebook’s stock down, I’ll show you a few earnings and valuation models that explain the movement in Facebook’s stock price, I’ll give you its fair valuation based on growth and I’ll give you the perspective of a practitioner, as I have been recently testing a bit with Facebook ads for my book and stock market research platform, which might be a bit more positive for the stock than what others show. The Cambridge Analytica scandal will have an impact but the question is how much will revenue growth decelerate? We’ll finish with a discussion on whether Facebook is a buy now and whether will I buy this for my model portfolio. Also, why is Facebook better than Amazon's stock. What do I do? Market Prediction: Is the bear market ending? Analysis.
Market Prediction: Is the bear market ending? Looking into the evidence. What is technical analysis? In finance, technical analysis is an analysis methodology for forecasting the direction of prices through the study of past market data, primarily price and volume. Behavioral economics and quantitative analysis use many of the same tools of technical analysis In cryptocurrency a lot of users are trying to predict market movement by doing technical analysis of different coins Recently a respect user 'PentarhUdi' posted his technical analysis of the Bitcoin on the website TradingView. The analysis recieved over 26k views and a lot of good feedback. Bitcoin analysis https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/c2DYFwXO-Bear-time-is-near-to-end/ Key Points This is a very long-term prediction channel that started in 2012. The past price was fitting within the prediction channel very well apart from end of 2013 bull run where the price went slightly above it. The current lowest price almost reached the bottom of the channel (the lowest price could go according to the prediction is around 5.5k). We have seen strong support lines at these levels. We could see another crazy run (Bitcoin grows in bubbles) that could reach the likes of 100k at the end of 2019 if the conditions are perfect. We could also see slow growth along the bottom of the channel where the 10k could be reached mid 2019 if the over market sentiment isn't that great. Fundamental analysis Fundamental analysis, in accounting and finance, is the analysis of a business's financial statements; health; and competitors and markets. In case of cryptocurrencies fundamentals can not be forgotten. The market does not always act reasonable but there are certain things that can be analysed long term. In case of cryptocurrencies we should look at: developments of the project - how useful those projects are in real life? real life usage of the cryptocurrencies - how useful the actual tokens are? mainstream friendliness - how friendly they will be for new users? government involvement - how will laws affect cryptocurrencies? trading potential - can people make money that way? Bullish Signs All of the projects that raised money through ICOs should start providing actual products which should increase the usage of cryptocurrencies More and more wallets and apps are trying to make crypto user friendly for new uers to get into them As for existing users there are also more crypto cards and apps that allow people to actually spend cryptocurrencies meaning people can actually use them with intended purpose Bakkt - will allow both institutional traders and mainstream users to get into crypto and use it in real life applications ETFs are also coming which will allow more investors to get into cryptocurrencies and could potentially positively affect price Conclusion Both Technical and Fundamental analysis are bullish long term and the bear market has been ongoing for 7 months and while it's impossible to predict how long it will last it could be due to reversal any minute It is important to pick good cryptocurrencies since a lot of the less known project will not survive Popular projects like Bitcoin or Ethereum are good choices Projects that already have use cases/partnerships like Vechain, IOTA or Binance Coin are also interesting choices since they have usage that ensures value Cryptocurrencies and blockchain are seeing more usage so holding is a long time valid strategy
