Tiny Planets Pooling Resources

05:04
Bing and Bong discover a group of white and blue Locals, trying desperately to jump over a high wall. Thinking about the problem, Bing steps on a square tile that makes a noise and turns white. Stepping on the next tile turns it blue, and the one after, white. As the Locals bounce randomly on the tiles, a sequence of white-blue-white causes the squares to spring up, sending three happy Locals over the wall. Through trial-and-error, Bing concedes that the white-blue-white consistently acts as a springboard to the other side, where they find a springy inflatable pad, and everyone bounces together. Whee!

Afrikaanderwijk - Pooling neighbourhood resources

01:08
Afrikaanderwijk Cooperative operates in South Rotterdam’s Feijenoord area. Evolved from an art project conducted in the area by the Freehouse Foundation, the Cooperative works on bringing together existing workspaces, entrepreneurs, producers, social organisations and the market. The Cooperative began its work by mapping the unrecognised skills and competences of residents in the Afrikaanderwijk neighbourhood, suffering from problems of low education, unemployment and a bad reputation. Based on these skills, the Cooperative created a number of organisations to help residents use their competences through establishing a neighbourhood kitchen and catering company, a textile workshop and a cleaning company, offering services on the market and bidding for municipal commissions, in order to keep revenues in the area and create jobs for locals. This excerpt is part of a longer video by Emanuela Liverani and Federico Greco. The full video is available at https://youtu.be/699fTE2UgyE

What is a Pooled Investment?

01:18
Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events. Our word of the day is “Pooled Investment” Pooled investment funds – also known as collective investment schemes – are a way of putting sums of money from many people into a large fund spread across many investments and managed by professionals. Investing this way can be easier and less risky than buying shares in individual companies direct, and there are lots of funds to choose from. With an investment fund, lots of people pool their money together and a professional fund manager invests the money in assets such as shares, bonds, property, cash, or a combination. There’s a huge range of funds that invest in different things, with different strategies – high income, capital growth, income and growth and so on. The enormous advantages of investing in pooled fund vehicles make them an ideal asset for many investors. There are added costs involved in the form of management fees, but these fees have been steadily declining for many years as competition has increased. The main detractor of pooled fund investments is that capital gains are spread evenly among all investors - sometimes at the expense of new shareholders. In this and the next few sections we’re going to look at a couple of related topics in Project 2016. And we’re going to look at these two topics together because you very often need to use them perhaps for the first time on one large program of work or one very large project. Now what quite often happens when you’re working on a large project is that the project gets larger and larger and maybe becomes a set of projects or perhaps you’re working on a program that needs to be split into a set of projects. And not only do you need to split the work up but different people are going to manage different parts of that body of work. And what often happens is that the different projects although they need to be managed separately share resources. So what we’re going to look at in the next few sections are combining multiple projects into one, or if you like splitting a large project into several projects, and sharing resources between projects. So it’s project consolidation and resource sharing that we’re covering here. Now in order to demonstrate these two techniques I’m going to use an example of a charity event. And the idea is that we’re going to run a charity event and it’s going to comprise actually three events within one. There will be a gala dinner, there will be a fashion show and buffet lunch and there will be a sports day and barbeque. So the gala dinner will be a fundraising dinner where we’ll charge the participants a pretty heavy admission price but for that they’ll get a good dinner, there’ll probably be a prize draw, some entertainment and so on, probably some dancing. And then the fashion show and buffet lunch we’ll invite local fashion houses to put on a show. And as part of that we’ll provide a good buffet lunch. And again we’ll charge a suitable admission charge for all of the people that want to see the fashion show and enjoy the buffet lunch. And we’re also going to run a sports day, pretty much a family focused event and that will include a barbeque. Now I need to point out to you that as we’re dealing with an event where the planning and execution could become very complex indeed and with very large numbers of participants involved and where in reality it will probably cover a very considerable period of time I’ve actually compressed the detail and compressed the timescales here in order to cover this in a reasonable amount of time on the course. Having said that, all of the key features that you need to be aware of are covered in what I’m going to do here. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

Black Society - Pooling Resources It is very key that we, as a people, start/ continue working together for the greater good. Professor JohnBull Season 6 - Episode 4 (Osusu Contribution)

24:29
Before the advent of modern day banking, Africans had devised a method of saving money and pooling resources together to expand their businesses. The aged-long medium is called osusu in traditional setting or thrift collection in modern day terminology. This week's edition of the TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by Globacom and showing every Sunday on the DSTV Africa Magic Family and GOTV Channel 2 at 6.00pm., with repeat broadcast on Thursday at 9.30 p.m. on the cable TV channels, focuses on the osusu practice and the threat fraudsters in the business pose to the credibility of the traditional saving medium. The episode, which is entitled Osusu Contribution, will also be aired on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday, with Anambra Broadcasting Service showing it at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday. Woven round a fraudster, Mr. Rowland (Mounago Collins Nche), who prides himself as the "coordinator of Corporate Osusu Group", the new episode is an eye opener to petty traders and others who may wish to go into cooperative or thrift societies to be cautious in determining who they entrust with their hard-earned money so that they do not fall prey to scammers. Kanayo O. Kanayo, who plays the role of the lead character, Professor Johnbull, in the series, while empathising with his "proximate people" such as Etuk (Imeh Bishop); Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso); Mai Doya (Funky Mallam); Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola); Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko); Flash (Stephen Odimgbe) Abadnego (Martins Nebo) and Samson(Ogus Baba), who are all victims of a fake osusu operator, urges them to carry out proper investigation on the personalities heading the thrift organisations. Viewers will find in Osusu Contribution how the fraudsters in the business operate and answers to the following: How does Jeroboam (Osita Iheme) escape being scammed? Is there wisdom in taking the number one position in any osusu or thrift contribution? Are there registered cooperative societies? How ancient is osusu contribution? What is the position of Professor Johnbull in his conclusion?

In the previous section I discussed some of the key points around project consolidation, the reasons that you might want to split projects up and the reasons why you might want to join projects together. And one of the key aspects that comes out of that is the importance of deciding on how to deal with resources. And in relation to our charity event we came across the first key issue, which is that if we start to split the event into separate projects we somehow need to make sure that those projects are using the same resources. And so what I’m going to cover in this section is how to set up a resource pool and how to share the resource pool between a number of projects. My starting point for this section is the ending point for the preceding section. So I still have my complete list of tasks here, Charity Event All, and I also have also open at the moment the individual Sports Day project that I created in the preceding section. Note that the tasks involved in the Sports Day project are also still in the All project, the one you’re looking at at the moment. And clearly at some stage I need to remove those as they are now in a separate project. But I’m going to set up the resource pool first. Now one of the key aspects of a resource pool is that generally speaking we set it up as a project with resources but no tasks. And quite often you’ll want to set up a resource pool right at the outset when you’re working on a project or a group of projects that are going to share that resource pool. So on many occasions you’ll start off with a completely empty MPP. Go to the Resource Sheet, start entering your resources, make up your resource pool, and then save that project but with no tasks. Now on this occasion we already have a good starting point for our resource pool because if I look at the Resource Sheet for the All project I’ve already got all of my resources. And I’m going to basically save a copy of the All project, remove all of the tasks in that project and that will become my resource pool. So what I’m going to do is click on File, Save As and then I’m going to browse to my normal course files folder and save the Charity Event All project. And the saved project is going to be CharityEvent_Resources.mpp. There it is. Click on Save. And having saved CharityEvent_Resources.mpp what I’m going to do is to select all of the tasks and I’m going to hit the Delete key. I now have a project with no tasks. But if I click to the Resource Sheet of course I still have all of my resources. And this is now my resource pool. Now let me switch back into the individual project, the Sports Day project. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

Re: Who are the emerging leaders in Africa?

The continent suffers from a drought of leadership. There is a drought of leadership in Africa. There are leaders who are trying at the moment. John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor is making some efforts in Ghana. Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki is also making efforts in South Africa. But I think we have a drought of leadership, because what we want to see in Africa is a leadership that has vision, and a vision that will make Africa respected. We can't compete against the Chinese and the Americans as small countries. We can compete as regions _______ as the A.U. So this notion of regional integration -- this notion of pooling our resources together -- we need leaders in Africa who are driven by regional sovereignty. And we have had leaders who have talked about this. For example _________. You know he had his faults; but in 1961 they adopted their constitution. They _________. We as Africans are prepared to surrender our sovereignty in part or in total in pursuit of African unity ________. That's the kind of leaders we want in Africa -- leadership that is driven by Pan African sovereignty, and that moves away from national sovereignty. So no . . . Better Together Pt. 3 Give More Together

48:16
Have you ever wondered, "why church?" Why do we wake up on Sunday mornings and gather together for what we call "church"? Pastor Tim started studying the gatherings of Jesus and one of the things that becomes apparent is the pooling of resources. Together 5,000 people can be fed and together, an offering could be taken to help those in Jerusalem or land could be sold so that there were no one with needs within the church. Together, we can give more.

We are always looking for people with medical experience to help administer first aid, a phone company with experience in Lifeline Cell Phones, or any other services you would like to provide! You can also come down and help us serve, help us clean up the area, help to document the action, or just bring some donations to drop off! We could use hygiene, first aid supplies, clothes (especially men's), and any other survival supplies. Contact us or just show up with a table and supplies for your services if you would like to get involved!

In this section we’re going to set up a master project for the charity event and we’re going to start with our original project, the one that’s called CharityEvent_All and the Sports Day Project that we’ve already created. Remember that those two projects are now both sharing a resource pool called CharityEvent_Resources. And really when it comes to splitting a large project or program into a number of constituent projects or subprojects the key area where there is usually the most effort is in restoring any links that existed in the original program or project. And this goes right back to a point that I made a couple of times already on the course. It’s a good idea to decide whether you’re going to split a program or project into a number of separate files as early on in the process as you can or you do finish up with quite a bit of work to do. Now what I’m going to do here is to demonstrate how to deal with that one project and then what I’m going to do is to set you Exercise 01 on the course where you’re going to split off the other projects that make up all of the charity event. Now the first thing I’m going to do is to open CharityEvent_All. You need to look carefully at what happens when I do this. Now it says, This file shares resources from a resource pool. What do you want to do? You can open the resource pool to see the assignments across all sharer files or do not open other files. Now if I open this project on its own although I’ll be able to see the list of resources that it uses I won’t be looking at the resource pool and all of the sharer projects. So I won’t get an accurate picture of resource usage. So what I’m going to do here is to select the first option. Now it’s very interesting, if you go to the View tab here on look at Switch Windows because what you’ll see is that we have the Charity Event All project open normally, we have the resource pool open read only, we don’t have the Sports Day project open. Now let me just move this across here. Now although I don’t have the Sports Day project open the resource pool is aware of the resource assignments in that project and I can see them here on the Resource Sheet in Resource Usage View. So that’s a very important point. I can see how the resources are being used even though I don’t have all of the projects open. I do however need to have the resource pool open. So having pointed that out let me now go back to the Gantt Chart for the All project. Note that I have the Planning summary task expanded here. The Gala Dinner and Fashion Show and Buffet Lunch summary tasks are both collapsed, and the Sports Day and Barbeque summary task is expanded as well. Now as you can see from this there are links, dependencies, between the Sports Day and Barbeque summary task tasks and the Planning summary task tasks. And what I need to do is to replace the Sports Day summary task with my separate project and then reestablish these links. Now I need to explain a couple of things as we go through this, but the first thing I need to do is to insert the Sports Day project into the All project. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

Burns & Allen, Old Time Radio, 421020 Pooling Resources For The War Effort

28:50
Burns and Allen was an American comedy duo consisting of George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen. They worked together as a successful comedy team that entertained vaudeville, film, radio, and television audiences for over forty years. The duo met in 1922 and married in 1926. Burns was the straight man and Allen was a silly, addle-headed woman. The duo starred in a number of movies including Lambchops (1929), The Big Broadcast (1932) and two sequels in 1935 and 1936, and A Damsel in Distress (1937). Their 30-minute radio show debuted in September 1934 as The Adventures of Gracie, whose title changed to The Burns and Allen Show in 1936; the series ran, moving back and forth between NBC and CBS, until May 1950. After their radio show's cancellation, Burns and Allen reemerged on television with a popular situation comedy, which ran from 1950 to 1958. Burns and Allen's radio show was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1994. Their TV series received a total of 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and produced what TV Guide ranked No. 56 on its 1997 list of the 100 greatest episodes of all time. Burns and Allen met in 1922 and first performed together at the Hill Street Theatre in Newark, New Jersey, continued in small town vaudeville theaters, married in Cleveland on January 7, 1926, and moved up a notch when they signed with the Keith-Albee-Orpheum circuit in 1927. Burns wrote most of the material and played the straight man. Allen played a silly, addle-headed woman, a role often attributed to the "Dumb Dora" stereotype common in early 20th-century vaudeville comedy. Early on, the team had played the opposite roles until they noticed that the audience was laughing at Gracie's straight lines, so they made the change. In later years, each attributed their success to the other. The Burns and Allen team was not an overnight sensation. "We were a good man-and-woman act," Burns said, "but we were not headliners or stars or featured attractions. We were on the bill with them. There would be a star or two stars and a featured attraction, and then we would come — fourth billing in an eight-act show." Their career changed direction when they made their first film. France and Germany Have a Plan to Build a Stealth 6th-Generation Fighter

06:22
This video shows you that France and Germany Have a Plan to Build a Stealth 6th-Generation Fighter. France will take the lead in developing what might be a sixth-generation fighter in a joint program with Germany. The French Defense Ministry made the announcement this week, as reported by numerous outlets. Paris further announced that work on the plane will begin this year, starting with a study phase. The plane is being jointly developed as the successors to France's Dassault Rafales and Germany's Eurofighters. Both of those planes are often referred to as 4.5-generation fighters. It is expected to be operation around 2040. French president Emmanuel Macron and German chancellor Angela Merkel first agreed to explore developing a fighter jet together during a joint cabinet meeting held in July of last year. The move was intended to signal greater European unity following the Brexit vote as well as reduce the inherent competition between European firms. “Today, there are too many European standards and qualifications, and sometimes there is competition among Europeans internationally," Macron said at a joint press conference with Merkel in July 2017. Besides the political symbolism, pooling resources together makes sense as the costs of developing high-tech fighter jets are increasingly beyond the means of most European nations. It is of course not a new idea as the Typhoon was developed by the Eurofighter Consortium consisting of Britain's BAE Systems, Italy's Leonardo as well as Germany and Spain’s Airbus. Following Merkel and Macron’s July 2017 announcement, the two sides set to work identifying the major requirements needed in any future fighter jet. The two sides signed a ten-page common requirements document outlining these capabilities on the sidelines of an air show in Berlin in late April of this year. According to German defense sources who spoke to Reuters, the requirements the two sides agreed upon included that the plane needed to be able to operate on its own, command a squadron of other weapons such as drones, and the ability to carry out both offensive and defensive missions. At the time of that report in April, the two sides had not decided whether to develop only manned versions of the plane or unmanned ones as well. The original joint agreement was signed between Airbus and Dassault. With France being given the lead, it is likely that Dassault will be in charge of the effort. The plane will be the first stealthy plane developed by a European country, although of them will fly America’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighters. In earlier discussing potentially fifth-generation fighters, Airbus released a promotional video describing some of the capabilities it envisioned. These included, according to Sebastien Roblin, “low-observable characteristics to allow penetration of hostile air defense systems; powerful sensors including a synthetic aperture radar capable of identifying enemy targets; and data fusion of sensor data with friendly forces.” While these capabilities are reminiscent of fifth-generation fighters, the joint fighter jet is likely to go far beyond them. In the same presentation by Airbus, it described the new plane as having “the ability to manage stealthy drones deploying both kinetic payloads and electronic warfare systems—a concept known as manned-unmanned teaming. Other technologies mooted at various points include laser weapons, advanced cybersecurity to protect against hacking and AI-assisted piloting aids.” Read Full Article On: http://nationalinterest.org f 35, f 22, f 22 raptor, pak fa, stealth fighter, us fighter jets, f22, american fighter, t50, fighter plane, fighter jet, f 22 raptor model, sukhoi pak fa, us fighter planes, stealth aircraft, us air force planes, indian fighter planes, fighter aircraft, 5th generation, american fighter jets, us military aircraft ====================================================================================================== DISCLAIMER: Each and every content used in this video is not imaginary. Lyme Disease Healing Program - Call for Participants - Spend 1 Year with Lyme Coach

08:03
This healing program is a one-time opportunity for people with chronic Lyme Disease who want to heal themselves now. Each week for an entire year, participants will appear on camera with me, as I coach them through my protocol, which is how I healed myself in one year after living with Lyme for nine years. We'll document their progress, what works and what doesn't, and they'll share their stories, so people all over the world can see what it takes to heal themselves, and participate with us! Goals, email and a personal note below: Protocol (Part 1): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS2Ii8i1Je0 Protocol (Part 2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOoQIXaWQ2o My Story with Lyme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x8tDTYJhVA The Goals: 1. To create a protocol that teaches people how to heal themselves as an individual, through commitment, observation and experimentation. With Lyme, the protocol needs to account for the person's unique cocktail of pathogens and symptoms. Because there isn't one Lyme disease. Which means no single protocol will work for everyone unless that protocol can conform to anyone. 2. Over the course of the year, this project will show people how to heal themselves, and inspire them to commit to their healing, because they'll see it can be done. 3. This project will be a blueprint for people to create their own healing communities, pooling resources and knowledge as they band together and support each other (whether online or in person) Note: This program isn't something I want to make a business out of, or spend the rest of my life doing. After this year, once we've shown people how to heal, I'll let these videos speak for themselves, so we can all move on with our lives and be our best selves. I have big goals that have nothing to do with Lyme, and am excited to put Lyme behind me. The goal of this project is to help anyone with Lyme to heal, and put the Lyme behind them too! If you're interested in participating, leave a comment below or write me at [email protected]

Other technologies mooted at various points include laser weapons, advanced cybersecurity to protect against hacking and AI-assisted piloting aids.” After the announcement that France would be spearheading the effort, Dassault Chief Executive Eric Trappier said, “Developing a future multi-role combat aircraft for France and Germany integrated in a weapons system network is a major issue for Europe’s strategic autonomy.” To that end, at some point Paris and Berlin are likely to reach out to other countries in Europe about joining the program. This will almost certainly include British firms like BAE systems, and possibly Italian ones.
