Mount Hard Disk Drives as NTFS Folder | Windows 10 / 8.1 / 7 Tutorial
Mount in the following empty NTFS folder or Mount Drive as NTFS folder in Windows 10 / 8 / 7 is a very useful feature, when there are many hard disk drives are connected with your system. A system with multiple hard drives and having multiple partitions on each drive can be real painful task to manage contents over the drives. In other case, you might have many drives with many partitions in your system and you are now out of drives letters, means from A to Z all the drive letters are already being occupied and you are unable to assign a drive letter to your newly attached drive. In both cases, Mounting a Drive as NTFS folder is very useful, where you can Mount an entire drive as folder on an existing drive and can manage all the data inside the folder. But in background the data will be getting written on the new physical drive. Information also applies to the following versions of Windows: Windows 7 Windows 8 / 8.1 Windows 10 Check Out My Other Works ======================== For More Microsoft Windows 10 Tutorial Videos Visit @ https://goo.gl/4aJGnP Watch Best How To and Tips and Tricks Videos @ https://goo.gl/qzrP13 Watch Excel 2016 Tutorials @ https://goo.gl/CDgCaL Watch Word 2016 Tutorials @ https://goo.gl/zZx9Bk Watch More PowerPoint 2016 Tutorials @ https://goo.gl/YSFjgt Top 40 PowerPoint Animation Tutorials, That You Might Haven't Seen Before https://youtu.be/sz4PpIpzoQ8 Watch More Motion Graphics in PowerPoint Tutorials : https://goo.gl/7ujIsn For More Animated Motion Backgrounds : https://goo.gl/dk5pjk Watch More Animated Loaders and Spinners : https://goo.gl/P1Py0r For Kinetic Typographic and Advanced Text Animation in PowerPoint : https://goo.gl/b3fuys Subscribe Us @ http://www.youtube.com/theteacher Like Us @ http://www.facebook.com/bemyteacher Circle Us on Google Plus @ http://www.google.com/+theteacher Visit Us @ http://www.theteacherpoint.blogspot.com Presented By

NFS Sharing Demonstration
This video will look at how to use the NFS server and client features in Windows as well as a quick look at Ubuntu. There is a lot to NFS and this video just covers the basics. Check out http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for more of our always free training videos. Demonstration 0:25 – We will now take a look at my computer running Windows Server 2012 R2. 0:32 – First we will open Server Manager from the quick launch bar. 0:37 – Select “Add roles and features” to start the Add roles and features wizard. 0:43 – As we will be installing this on a local server, we will leave the first two screens as their defaults and click next. 0:49 – On the Server Selection screen, we will select the local server ‘NYDC1’ from the list and click next. 0:56 – On the Server Roles screen, we will select the NFS Server role. (We will discuss the client component later on in the video.) Expand ‘File and Storage Services’ and then expand the sub-category ‘File and iSCSI services’ then select the Server for NFS component. PLEASE NOTE: Windows may prompt you to install additional features. If this is the case, select’ Add Features’ when prompted. 1:35 – Click next. 1:37 – The next screen will ask if you would like to install additional features. In our case today, we do not need any additional features so we will just press next. 1:45 – With the required roles selected (and additional features added if necessary), we will be on the last screen of the wizard. We will press install at this point to initiate the install of the selected roles and features. The installation will take a few moments to complete so we’ll pause the video and return when it’s done. 1:59 – Once the install is complete, we will close the wizard and then open up Windows Explorer. 2:07 – We’ll select the D Drive and create a new folder called ‘Data’. This will be the folder we share using NFS. 2:12 – Next, we will create a text document called “Data folder on NYDC1.txt” so when we connect to it later in the video using the client, I can identify it. 2:28 – With the folder now created, the next step is to share it. To do this, we will right click on the folder and select properties. 2:37 – To share the folder using NFS, select the NFS Sharing tab. 2:43 – On the NFS Sharing tab, press the button “Manage NFS Sharing” to bring up the NFS sharing dialog. 2:49 – To share the folder, tick the option at the top “Share this folder”. 2:55 – With the folder shared, there are some additional options that can be configured, but that is beyond the scope of this video. 3:04 – If you notice at the top, there are options for Kerberos if you want to utilize Kerberos for security. 3:11 – In our case, I will select the option “Allow anonymous access”. This will allow the NFS share to be accessed without a username and password. 3:20 – Next we will determine which computers we will enable to access the share. To do this, we will press the permissions button. 3:31 – We see by default that all machines have the “allow read-only access” to the share. 3:35 – To add additional permissions, we’ll select the Add button. 3:38 - In this case, I will add the computer NYDC1, which is the server. 3:43 – Later in the video, we’ll be trying to connect to the share from the NYDC1 server and we want to ensure that it has access when we do. 3:49 – Notice, for the type of access, I can select read-only or read-write. We’ll leave it on Read/Write and then press OK to exit the dialog. 4:00 – Notice that if the permission “all machines” is selected, the remove button is unavailable and greyed out. This permission cannot be removed, so if you wanted to remove permissions, you will need to change the access to “No Access”. Since we have added NYDC1 into the permissions list, this essentially limits access to ONLY NYDC1. 4:21 – With the share created, and permissions set, we will close the open windows and go back to the Server manager. 4:25 – This step is to connect the new NFS share to Windows. To do this, however, an additional feature is required. Keep in mind that Windows Server and Windows OS versions earlier than 8.1 support this feature, however Windows 8.1 does not have this support built in. If you are using 8.1, you will need additional software to access an NFS share. How to permanently mount partition in LINUX
The configuration file /etc/fstab contains the necessary information to automate the process of mounting partitions. In a nutshell, mounting is the process where a raw (physical) partition is prepared for access and assigned a location on the file system tree (or mount point). In general fstab is used for internal devices, CD/DVD devices, and network shares (samba/nfs/sshfs). Removable devices such as flash drives *can* be added to fstab. Partitions listed in fstab can be configured to automatically mount during the boot process. If a device/partition is not listed in fstab ONLY ROOT may mount the device/partition. Users may mount a device/partition if the device is in fstab with the proper options.

How to Auto-Mount a Volume by editing FSTAB (File Systems Table) in Linux
Here I show you how to mount a volume automatically each time you login. You will need root permissions to do so, but it is fairly simple. First, locate where the drive is listed in your system by issuing: sudo fdisk -l (Be careful with the fdisk command, improper use can wipe entire partitions). Then you need to select a mount point. It can be any directory you want, but it needs to be empty. If it is not, you will not be able to get the previously placed files until you unmount the volume. Finally, editing the File System Table: sudo gedit /etc/fstab (Of course, you can use other editors, such as nano, vi, emacs, kate, etc). You then need to write in the changes, using the locating given by fdisk, the previously selected mount point, the file system type (ext4, ntfs, reiserfs, etc.), options (rw, user, exec, auto, etc.), and optionally Dump & FSCK bits. Upon reboot (or issuing a mnt command in the terminal) your drive will be mounted.

What is Docker Volume | How to create Volumes | What is Bind Mount | Docker Storage
Today we will learn: 1. What are Volumes 2. How to create / list / delete volumes 3. How to attach volume to a container 4. How to share volume among containers 5. What are bind mounts Volumes are the preferred mechanism for persisting data generated by and used by Docker containers : docker volume //get information : docker volume create : docker volume ls : docker volume inspect : docker volume rm : docker volume prune Use of Volumes =========== Decoupling container from storage Share volume (storage/data) among different containers Attach volume to container On deleting container volume does not delete Commands docker run --name MyJenkins1 -v myvol1:/var/jenkins_home -p 8080:8080 -p 50000:50000 jenkins docker run --name MyJenkins2 -v myvol1:/var/jenkins_home -p 9090:8080 -p 60000:50000 jenkins ocker run --name MyJenkins3 -v /Users/raghav/Desktop/Jenkins_Home:/var/jenkins_home -p 9191:8080 -p 40000:50000 jenkins References https://hub.docker.com/_/jenkins/ https://docs.docker.com/storage/volumes/ NOTES By default all files created inside a container are stored on a writable container layer The data doesn’t persist when that container is no longer running A container’s writable layer is tightly coupled to the host machine where the container is running. You can’t easily move the data somewhere else. Docker has two options for containers to store files in the host machine so that the files are persisted even after the container stops VOLUMES and BIND MOUNTS Volumes are stored in a part of the host filesystem which is managed by Docker Non-Docker processes should not modify this part of the filesystem Bind mounts may be stored anywhere on the host system Non-Docker processes on the Docker host or a Docker container can modify them at any time In Bind Mounts, the file or directory is referenced by its full path on the host machine.  Volumes are the best way to persist data in Docker volumes are managed by Docker and are isolated from the core functionality of the host machine A given volume can be mounted into multiple containers simultaneously. When no running container is using a volume, the volume is still available to Docker and is not removed automatically. You can remove unused volumes using docker volume prune. When you mount a volume, it may be named or anonymous.  Anonymous volumes are not given an explicit name when they are first mounted into a container Volumes also support the use of volume drivers, which allow you to store your data on remote hosts or cloud providers, among other possibilities. #DockerVolume #DockerBindMount #DockerContainers #DockerTutorials #DockerTraining #DevOpsTools #DevOpsTraining #DockerCommands #DockerForBeginners #DockerFreeTutorials #DockerforDevOps DOCKER PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhW3qG5bs-L99pQsZ74f-LC-tOEsBp2rK YOUTUBE PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTt7pyY-o0eltq14glaG5dg/playlists YOUTUBE https://www.youtube.com/automationstepbystep FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/automationstepbystep TWITTER https://twitter.com/automationsbs If you like videos on the channel Automation Step by Step, hit the like button and share with others. How To Permanently Map A Network Share Onto Ubuntu And Linux Mint
In this video, I briefly show you how to edit /etc/fstab file to permanently mount a network share on Ubuntu 13.4 and Linux Mint 15. I think this very method is also working for few older versions of Ubuntu and Linux Mint. Enjoy!!! After you followed my tutorial exactly, but after you tried the command [mount -a], without square brackets of course, but you saw error such as wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on... it means that you have to install cifs-utils before you can mount the network share as cifs file system type. To install cifs-utils, just use the apt-get or aptitude package manager to do so. The command is like this, [aptitude install cifs-utils], without the square brackets of course.

macOS High Sierra Disk Utility: A Video Walkthrough
In a previous video, I showed some of the limitations of macOS High Sierra Disk Utility, while the new operating system version was still in beta. Now that the beta is over and we have the official release, the things we previously had to do using diskutil in Terminal are available in the graphical tool. Let's take a walkthrough, in video format, of macOS High Sierra Disk Utility. You'll learn a real "gotcha," the fact that full volume trees are hidden by default. You'll also learn how you can reformat an APFS container and volume to a macOS Extended partition.

How to Setup NFS Shares on Synology. Why? I purchased a Raspberry Pi and quickly installed the latest version of Raspbmc 12.0 (Frodo). The low power Pi has a 700 Mhz Cpu. RHCE EX300 : Configure Kerberos Enabled NFS share in RHEL 7 and CentOS 7 (File Based Storage)
In this rhce video tutorial, I will show you how to export file systems to client using NFS with Kerberos authenticated in RHEL 7 and CentOS 7 server. Kerberos enabled NFS exports The NFS server does not require authentication and only enforces access restriction based on the IP address or host name of the client by default. To remedy this, the NFS server provides options to secure access to files using a number of methods: none, sys, krb5, krb5i and krb5p. The NFS server can choose to offer a single method or multiple methods for each exported share. NFS clients must connect to the exported share using one of the methods mandated for that share, specified as a mount option sec=method. fstab, fixing mounting option of the hard drive on Mint
Hi guys, today we are going to talk about FSTAB and the Disk Utility window. If you want to edit the mounting options, so you can edit the mount point, the options, etc..., you will certainly have an error like Unrecognized mount option "x-gvfs-show" or missing value. To fix this, just add before the x-gvfs-show a "comment=" using the Disk utility, or modifying the file /etc/fstab, so it looks like this: [..], comment=x-gvfs-show[...] and it will work. gvfs is the Gnome Virtual File System and the comment option is as from the man fstab: comment: for use by fstab-maintaining programs Ok that's it for today guys., problem FIXED!!!! See you on my next video.

fstab - Auto Mount Local Hard Drive on Bootup - Linux CLI
https://github.com/gotbletu/shownotes/blob/master/fstab.txt GUI using PySDM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpzJkQf0RAY NAME fstab - static information about the filesystems DESCRIPTION The file fstab contains descriptive information about the various file systems. fstab is only read by programs, and not written; it is the duty of the system administrator to properly create and maintain this file. Each filesystem is described on a separate line; fields on each line are separated by tabs or spaces. Lines starting with '#' are comments, blank lines are ignored. The order of records in fstab is impor‐ tant because fsck(8), mount(8), and umount(8) sequentially iterate through fstab doing their thing.

This process is not possible without the mount remote drive that is the Samba application. Therefore make sure you have it before starting.
