Make a Crisp SWOT Analysis PowerPoint Slide

10:53
► Looking for more tutorials? Click here: https://goo.gl/TBZibY This week's tutorial is dedicated to all of the business professionals and students out there. We're going to make an awesome SWOT analysis on PowerPoint. WHAT IS IT? In essence, a SWOT Analysis is a useful technique for understanding an entity's strengths and weaknesses while simultaneously identifying its opportunities available, and the potential threats it could face. To learn more about what a SWOT analysis is, click here. We're basically going to develop a SWOT analysis infographic and divide it into four quadrants on our slide using a custom set of shapes that I show you how to do in the video tutorial. From there, we'll correlate all the information using icons, colors, and text. The end result is a crisp looking SWOT analysis slide that your audience can use to process the information clearly and concisely. You should consider making this SWOT Analysis PowerPoint slide when you: - Want to display a summary of a SWOT analysis to your audience. - Have four separate points that you want to convey to your audience on one slide (in this case, you will remove the S, W, O, and T from the infographic and put numbers in their respective places). WHAT WILL THIS POWERPOINT TUTORIAL COVER? This PowerPoint tutorial will teach us how to: - Make a crisp looking SWOT analysis infographic on PowerPoint. - Use the 'fragment' and 'union' options in PowerPoint in order to make a custom shape. - Rotate shapes effectively to make a consistent pattern. - Position elements perfectly with ease on PowerPoint using the arrange options. - Create a strong flow of communication on your PowerPoint slide by associating color and icons to the information. - Take advantage of white space within our PowerPoint slide so that it is clear and concise through key positioning. ICON CREDENTIALS I did not make the icons that you see in this video. Here are the credentials for the four icons. You can find them over at The Noun Project. Amazon SWOT analysis 2018

04:45
This video will analyze Amazon company using a SWOT analysis. It will discuss the key Amazon strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that affect the company in 2018, which might help you get a better understanding about the Amazon and its business. The most important strength Amazon has is a combination of low cost structure, the largest merchandise selection and a huge number of third party sellers. Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world. In 2017, the company earned US$140.235 billion purely from online sales, more than any other retailer in the world. What is the key to such success? According to Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon.com, the company’s success lies in its low-cost structure and wide variety of merchandise. As for the disadvantages, Amazon’s major weakness is the growing long-term obligations-to-assets ratio. Amazon’s debt-to-asset ratio has risen significantly over the past few years and it is now one of the highest among its competitors. Let’s move on to the opportunities and the key opportunity for Amazon is the e-commerce market, which is forecast to reach US$4.5 trillion market worth by 2021. The e-commerce market is expected to expand significantly faster than the traditional retail sector, from US$2.290 trillion in 2017 to US$4.479 trillion by 2021, a growth rate of 95.6%. Based on these forecasts, e-commerce will account for 14% of total retail sales by 2020. One of the threats that affect Amazon is Walmart’s efforts to establish itself as a leading online retailer. In 2016, Walmart’s comparable store sales in the U.S. grew by only 1.6%, while the total sales of the Walmart U.S. grew by 3.2%. Most of the additional growth was achieved through e-commerce sales, which in 2016 grew by 16.11%. Walmart now has e-commerce websites in 11 countries and competes with Amazon in the U.S., U.K., Canada, China and Japan. These are the key Amazon SWOT strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. If you’d like to access many more of them, please visit our website https://www.strategicmanagementinsight.com/swot-analyses/amazon-swot-analysis.html and purchase the Amazon SWOT analysis from there. SWOT Analysis

30:49
SWOT Analysis is a useful technique for understanding your Strengths and Weaknesses, and for identifying both the Opportunities open to you and the Threats you face. Some people claim that Humphrey devised the SWOT analysis technique while working for the Stanford Research Institute it is clear from his 2005 paper that he is not the originator of SWOT, and he disputes it was Harvard or MIT either. So  The origin of the term SWOT remains unknown Used in a business context, it helps you carve a sustainable niche in your market. Used in a personal context , it helps you develop your career in a way that takes best advantage of your talents, abilities and opportunities.

SWOT analysis in practice - Starbucks -------------------------------- Strategy analysis has two main branches – analysis of a firm’s external environment and analysis of a firm’s internal environment. SWOT is a famous framework that allows us to combine the two types of analysis. SWOT is sometimes referred to as internal-external analysis. The acronym SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The first two, Strengths and Weaknesses, are related to a firm’s internal environment, while the last two, Opportunities and Threats, consider its external environment. Internal strengths and external opportunities are vertically paired as helpful elements, while internal weaknesses and external threats are paired as harmful elements. if we perform a company analysis, under strengths, we would expect to see its core competences, the areas where the business excels and has a competitive advantage over competitors. Weaknesses are areas that need improvement. Such vulnerabilities place a company at a disadvantage when competing against other firms. Opportunities can be seen as favorable factors existing in a company’s external environment, in the industry where it operates, and have the potential to improve its current results and competitive positioning. Threats arise in a company’s external environment and might harm its current business.

We don't do anything in half measures do we? Either we avoid it because we're "busy" trying to keep our boats floating - or we spend an inordinate amount of time making detailed (and often very well thought out) lists... But then getting swept up in "working in the business, not on the business". So what exactly is a SWOT analysis? SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Over the next four posts, we're going to take an in-depth look at the SWOT analysis. SWOT Analysis on Restaurant Business

03:45
In this week video I talk about the SWOT Analysis on Restaurant Business. As you know SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats and on this video I go through each one of them with examples. If this video was helpful for you, go and check out my video One Page Restaurant Marketing here http://30minutes.marketing/blog/create-your-one-page-restaurant-marketing-plan This video was created for 30 Minutes Restaurant Marketing a video blog where every week I share a restaurant marketing video that any restaurateur can apply in his restaurant. You can find more about it here: http://30minutes.marketing/ Transcript: Hello and welcome to this week 30 minutes restaurant marketing, this I will talk about How to Create a Restaurant SWOT analysis. As you know SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. A strength is a positive internal factor that your restaurant has and that creates an advantage for you in the market. A weakness on the other way is a negative internal factor that your restaurant has and that creates a disadvantage for you in the market. This is the SWOT analysis graphic. So these two squares on top are related to positive or negative internal factors that you somehow have the power to change it inside your restaurant. An example of a strength would be that you have an experienced chef and a weakness would be that your chef has not much experience. Keep in mind that when you are defining your strengths and weaknesses you are always comparing your restaurant to your direct competitors. Going back, if one of your strengths is your chef experience it means that your chef has more experience than the competitor restaurants chefs at same position. An opportunity, is a positive external factor that could be used to generate additional covers and sales. A threat, on the other side, is an external factor that can cause loss of covers and sales. So these two squares in the bottom are related to positive and negative external factors. You should be always on top of your opportunities and threats so you can take the right decisions when you need it. An example of opportunity is new technology that are developed and can be used to promote your restaurant, and a threat example would be a natural disaster that drove seafood prices up. Your goal after creating your SWOT analysis is to bring factors from left to right. Work on transforming weakness into strengths, at the previous example would be offering training to your chef so that he becomes more experienced, and see how you can create some “magic” in the threats so that they can become opportunities. Most of the times to develop a weakness into a strength is much easier has by being an internal factor you have full control on it, but when you can be creative enough to bring a threat into an opportunity it can be very profitable. In my previous threat example that caused the price of seafood to go up exponentially because of a natural disaster, if you know that all your competitor’s will stop selling seafood because it became “too expensive”, you could increase your seafood dishes price and be “the one and only” serving seafood dishes. By being unique, even with high prices, for sure seafood lovers would be “knocking your door”. So by now you know how you can create your SWOT analysis and that you need to develop a strategy to bring weaknesses into strengths and threats into opportunities. Thank you for watching, hope it helps, and if you want me to keep creating restaurant marketing videos please support by liking commenting, or sharing below. Thanks and Cheers

How to Complete a SWOT Analysis | Episode 24

14:48
A SWOT Analysis is a tool used to complete an objective analysis of a company. In addition to taking an internal look at the company (strengths and weaknesses), companies also need to scan the external environment to identify both opportunities and threats. In this video I'll explain what a SWOT Analysis is, and provide some examples of what can be considered in each category. Personal SWOT Analysis

02:54
Hi there, this is Dr John Kenworthy and What's Better Today? This short video will introduce the Personal SWOT analysis process for you. Use it together with the SWOT Leadership APP to identify yours. SWOT, stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Most often, it has been used by businesses to analyse their competitive position so they can ensure they build an advantage with their strengths, capitalize on opportunities and develop any weaknesses that may expose their future to known threats. I use it for the same reasons at a personal level. Understand yourself and discover who you are and what you want You have a choice to make when embarking on any journey. It is possible to simply set off and go somewhere that is anywhere but here. Choose a direction and move! Where do you end up? Well... somewhere! This is actually how most people approach their life and their career. Think about the last time that you decided to go somewhere specific. Firstly you would know where you are at the start of the journey. Then you identify your destination. Then you identify the route from here to there and the means of transport. In choosing the mode of getting from here to there, you would take into consideration what you have that will enable you to get there from here. Perhaps a car, with fuel and of course, you would have the ability and license to drive. If that isn't an option for you, you might choose a bus, a train, maybe even cycle or walk. You would choose the most appropriate transport for you in your circumstances. The same is true for developing your leadership Do you know your strengths, you weaknesses, the opportunities you have and the threats to your leadership, your career, your life? What will you get out of this activity? We identify the opportunities and threats to yourself and your leadership future. You will map your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats on a grid. (Yes, it's the same idea as an organization SWOT analysis). Together, your strengths and opportunities help identify your long term goals. While your weaknesses and the threats facing you need to be mitigated, planned for or managed to ensure that your goals remain attainable and realistic. To begin your personal SWOT analysis, open the SWOT leadership APP and begin by asking yourself a series of questions, answering them in the appropriate of each of the four areas: When you have completed your thinking for a section, go to the next area.

SWOT Analysis Template

06:45
In this video, I will explain how you can use the SWOT analysis to evaluate certain business ventures and projects, and why it is useful. Priority Matrix is a prioritization and delegation tool designed to help teams work more efficiently. It allows you to communicate priorities across your team, and provides visibility into shared projects so that you can keep track of the moving parts of your initiatives. One thing that a lot of our users find useful is doing a SWOT analysis, and we provide a SWOT analysis template on Priority Matrix. This form of analysis is a great way to compare your business to others in your industry, or decide which route to take when two projects are in competition to decide which should be implemented next. As denoted by the name, a SWOT analysis consists of four categories, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. Strengths are what you are doing well, so all positive aspects. Weaknesses are more negative, or the potential roadblocks in your plan. Opportunities are potential areas that could benefit from your plan. And, Threats are related to weaknesses, but different in that threats are potential external issues, whereas weaknesses are internal. The first place to look for threats is in your competitor's’ products, plans, or strategy. By analyzing your competitor, you will be able to better plan. Let’s pretend that I am a wearable tech company and I am planning on releasing a new smartwatch. First, you must Choose Your Objective by deciding what area of your business you would like to focus your analysis on. To open up a SWOT analysis template in Priority Matrix, go to the project bar and click on the plus sign, go down to the SWOT analysis template, and title it according to what type of SWOT analysis you are doing. Remember to start with the end in mind; by the end of this analysis, you should have a concrete takeaway that you can act on. Next, put together Your SWOT Team by opening up the team member panel at the top of the page and going to the little plus sign. You can add each team member by email address, or click on their name. After determining your objective, choose the team members who you would like to involve in your decision making team. Since I am a planning on releasing a new product, this team may include my CEO, top product manager, and marketing team. Next it is time to conduct the actual SWOT analysis by considering our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of our project. Some examples of strengths for this project could be having enough funding to accomplish my objective, having a strong team that is equipped to handle the new responsibilities this project will bring. We might also have an edge over our competitors because of our product’s unique capabilities. Some examples of weaknesses in this project could be a problematic timeline. Perhaps my timeline is not realistic, or it will take way too long to carry out our initiatives. Another could be a lack of resources, like money, employees, or materials for the watches. Also, our company is not very well-known. When listing weaknesses, it is important to be honest with yourself and your team, as items in this list must be taken seriously. Some examples of opportunities can be that recently there are many more people interested in this type of tech gear and sales are soaring in this industry, so we can hopefully accumulate more customers interested in our product. Another one can be that this company has a meeting with a well-known athlete whom might be interested in the product, and perhaps our company can convince him to sponsor it. An example of a threat might be that our competitor is a leader in this industry, and it might be difficult to be a leader in this industry because of that. By following this process, you and your team can quickly determine which direction to take, and establish an efficient process for doing so. Once you have weaknesses to resolve or opportunities to take advantage of, you can delegate those responsibilities to team members and collaborate right within the app. You and your team members can then create projects, add tasks with corresponding notes, files, due dates, communicate in each separate task, and more. In the process, your SWOT analysis allows you really focus in on what you are doing well and what you are doing not so well so that you can plan accordingly. Priority Matrix is available for Mac, Windows, iOS, android, and web. Priority Matrix integrates with email, calendars, Google docs, Evernote, and more. We provide individualized coaching to any individual or group that would like a more personalized introduction to Priority Matrix. McDonald's SWOT analysis 2018

05:02
This video will analyze McDonald's company using a SWOT analysis. It will discuss the key McDonald's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that affect the company in 2018, which might help you get a better understanding about the McDonald's and its business. The most important strength McDonald's has is the second-largest restaurant network serving customers in over 120 countries. As of 2018, McDonald’s operates the second-largest restaurant network in the world. In total, the company and its franchisees operate 37,241 restaurants in 120 countries. In terms of sales, McDonald’s outrivals any other QSR chain in the world with US$22.820 billion in sales in 2017 alone (earning slightly more than Starbucks). As for the disadvantages, McDonald's major weakness is the reputation of a cheap place to eat at. Even though McDonald’s has invested heavily in its premium menu, it is still seen as a budget place to grab a quick bite. This hurts the company as it cannot effectively attract premium customers to its McCafe restaurants. Let’s move on to the opportunities and the key opportunity for McDonald's is further expansion of home delivery in the U.S. and other major international markets. McDonald’s introduced its first food delivery service in the U.S. in 1993, and since then, rapidly expanded it into many Asian, Middle Eastern and Latin American countries. The company had little success with the delivery service in the U.S. In 2016, McDonald’s announced home delivery service in 200 cities in the U.S. By July 2017, the company expanded the delivery service to 3,500 locations in the U.S. and in total to 7,800 restaurants across 47 countries. McDonald’s home delivery service is still new in the U.S. and the company should further expand the service to the majority of its 14,036 U.S. restaurants. One of the threats that affect McDonald's is intensifying competition. McDonald’s operates in a highly competitive fast-food industry, where it has to compete with international, national, regional and local rivals, each specializing to serve specific consumer segments. As the fast-food industry’s growth has slowed, competition has significantly intensified. McDonald’s, which is the leader in the fast-food industry, is experiencing slowing sales in the U.S. market mainly due to decreased traffic to its restaurants. Customers, who were eating at McDonald’s now choose restaurants like Five Guys Burgers or similar fast-casual chains, which offer better quality food and customer experience. These are the key McDonald's SWOT strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. If you’d like to access many more of them, please visit our website https://www.strategicmanagementinsight.com/swot-analyses/mcdonalds-swot-analysis.html and purchase the McDonald's SWOT analysis from there. Challenge Mapping vs. The SWOT Analysis

03:25
-- THE SWOT ANALYSIS: REASONS WHY CHALLENGE MAPPING SURPASSES IT To me, it's more than personal preference. Another popular discussion in nonprofit circles aside from "strategic planning being dead," is whether SWOT charts are still worth doing. There are two sides to this debate: No, there are plenty of other alternatives. Others say yes, however the reasons are hardly compelling. SWOT charts are loaded with disadvantages, which I go over. Challenge Mapping crushes the previous tool because it frames strategic planning discussions very explicitly. It allows groups to frame up and down strategies and tactics. And most of all, when it's facilitated correctly, the group emerges with clarity on their action steps. In the year 20xx, there are plenty of ways for strategic planning discussions. Groups should always go from ambiguity to concrete action steps, as much as possible. Caveat: Just like many divergent tools, you can't facilitate it the way I explained it here (time constraints, other sub-steps, etc.). But I present the gist of things. TOPICS + Introducing the flow of Challenge Mapping (Like the Five Whys technique) + Why the idea of constellations are the perfect analogy for nonprofit strategic planning discussions + The secret of asking questions differently + Strategic issues are by nature ill-defined, so why SWOT? + It's a great way to put into practice Systems Thinking SOCIAL: ► Website: http://www.skylance.org ► LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/balexandros ► Twitter: http://twitter.com/balexandros ► Medium: http://medium.com/@balexandros

Thesis Writing for Business Students: The SWOT Analysis

02:14
We’ve now reached the core of the thesis: The SWOT Analysis. Thesis Writing for Business Students: SWOT Analysis The SWOT Analysis is a model to help a business evaluate itself and strategize. The SWOT model goes through the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a business. Going through your Internal and External Analysis, you’ll want to pick out the KEY items that from the external analysis that are either Opportunities or Threats to the case study company and the same for the internal analysis – you’ll pick out the key items that are strengths and weakness for the company. I will dare to say this: Until you have finished the SWOT Analysis, you will not be able to finalize your research question. Why? Simply because this where you pin-point and define the issue of the case study, that is - the issue that your research question seeks to solve. The SWOT analysis itself should be one to an absolute max of three pages. It is a summary of the information you have provided in your thesis until this point. Remember, everything leading up to the SWOT analysis should be setting the stage - that is providing in-depth information about the scope and the issue you in research question. The SWOT Analysis itself is the core of the thesis. In your story telling, it is the point of no return. Everything between the SWOT Analysis and the Conclusion is focused on solving the key issue and its structured based on the information presented in the SWOT Analysis. The Conclusion is of course the last part. Here’s why you tie everything together and summarize your findings. For the Ski Resort thesis, this is what we wrote in the SWOT Analysis. Strengths: characteristics of the business or project that give it an advantage over others. Weaknesses: characteristics that place the business or project at a disadvantage relative to others. Opportunities: elements that the project could exploit to its advantage. Threats: elements in the environment that could cause trouble for the business or project. When you create you SWOT analysis, you should definitely create a visual model. Put it in a table and give it some color. As the core of your thesis, it needs to stand out!
