11 Most Massive Mines in the World

10:20
From the worlds largest gold mine found on the top of a mountain to the largest diamond mine in the world here are the most massive mines in the world! Subscribe to American EYE! 5.. Asbestos Mine, Canada Also known as the Jeffrey Mine, it’s located in Asbestos, Quebec and it was in operation until 2012. It’s a whopping 2 kilometers wide and 370 meters deep! Check out this thing on google maps and you can tell how completely massive this thing is! It’s the by far the largest asbestos mine in the world. For a long period of time, people would use this mineral to put into their walls and keep their homes from catching on fire! But recently there’s been a link with asbestos and a disease called mesothelioma, which is a lung condition. This is a toxic substance that people should avoid, so obviously this large mine went out of business. The lake at the bottom might look like an inviting blue, but you can bet your bottom dollar, it’s highly toxic! The small town that grew with the thriving asbestos industry feels like they’ve kind of lost their identity once the mine was forced to close, but people do still live there. 4. Mcarthur River Uranium Mine In case you were wondering which mine produces the most uranium in the world, that would be of course the Mcarthur River uranium mine in Saskatchewan Canada. This huge deposit was found in 1988 and finally a mining operation took place in 1997, when it began producing what’s known as Yellowcake. It’s not the kind of yellow cake you’d eat with your grandparents. This stuff has a horrific odor and basically what it is, is concentrated uranium powder which can then be used for powering nuclear reactors. We imagine this powdery substance is quite difficult to get ahold of. There aren’t a ton of photos of this place but, it does produce about 13 percent of the global uranium production across the globe. 3. Diavik Diamond Mine In case you thought it was Africa who had all the massive diamond mines, think again! The Diavik Diamond mine, found in the the northwest territories of Canada is one of the largest producers of diamonds in the Northern hemisphere and this place is pretty crazy! They annually produce 7 million carats of diamonds each year and you better believe it’s not easy to get here. The Diavik mine is found north of the arctic circle and it’s definitely cold! This photo here shows the subarctic landscapes that surround the diamond mine. You thought getting to work in the morning was tough for you? Imagine trying to get to work here! Just recently in 2015, this diamond produced what was known as the Diavik Foxfire 187.7 which is one of the largest rough gem quality diamonds ever produced. 2. Siberian Diamond Mine Also known as the Mirny Mine, The USSR began searching for ways to make to make themselves a more economical stable and independent union. In 1955 the Soviets discovered large diamond deposits at this site in the far away lands of Siberia and many people got to work very quickly in order to help bring wealth to the union. After about 20 years of operations, they finally decided that At one point this mine produced 10 million carats of diamonds a year and reaches a max depth of 524 meters or around 1700 feet making it the 2nd largest excavated hole in the world. The mine is so deep, airspace is closed over the hole due to helicopter crashes caused from the downward flow of air. The construction of this in the frigid conditions of Siberia must have been grueling and downright cruel. Sources state that the machinery used at this mine had to be covered at night or it would freeze Are the diamonds worth freezing to death?! It’s unoperational today but Some claim that there’s still a bunch of diamonds in this mine and the whole thing could be worth about 12 Billion dollars. It’s possible that controlling this diamond is mine is crucial to controlling the price of diamonds across the world. Bingham Copper Mine The bingham copper mine located near Salt Lake City Utah is home to the biggest pit in the world and it’s been in operation since 1903. It’s about 2.5 miles wide and if it were a stadium, it would be able to fit an estimated 9.5 million people. It keeps getting bigger and bigger too! Diligent workers can move about 250,000 tons of rock each day and it’s even become a tourist attraction in recent years before a massive landslide took place. Some claim that this was the biggest non volcanic landslide to take place in North American modern history. This photo we see here shows you the aftermath of this massive landslide and Bingham Copper mine and it makes you wonder how safe some of the conditions at these mines truly are. The landslides were so massive, that they actually triggered a few small earthquakes! Experts estimated that 165 tons of earth slide down from the top of the mine all the way to the bottom.

Mining for Gold in Haiti: Haiti Helped or Exploited by U.S., Canadian Mining Companies?

06:19
Learn more: http://pulitzercenter.org/projects/haiti-gold-mines-foreign-companies-investment-government-distribution-wealth-poverty After years of rumors that gold mining companies were exploring in Haiti, Canadian and U.S. gold mining corporations now confirm they have permits to mine gold in more than 1,000 square miles in northern Haiti. Haiti's new prime minister says the estimated $20 billion worth of minerals in Haiti's hills could help liberate it from dependency on foreign aid and rebuild from the devastating 2010 earthquake. But many worry the gold mines will be a boom for foreign investors and a bust for local Haitian communities. Democracy Now! speak to Jane Regan, lead author of "Gold Rush in Haiti: Who Will Get Rich?" The report by Haiti Grassroots Watch was published Wednesday in The Guardian and Haïti Liberté. "You've got a perfect storm brewing whereby you're looking at giant pit mines in the north, in a country that's already environmentally devastated, and giant pit mines being run by Canadian and American companies," Regan says. "Most of the money that's made and most of the gold that's dug up will go straight north." (Modified from the original excerpt provided by Democracy Now!) This report is part of Pulitzer Center-sponsored project "Haiti: Sitting on a Gold Mine" (http://bit.ly/LSCNtf).

Top 10 Countries With The LARGEST Gold Reserves!

10:12
Check out these 10 countries with the largest gold reserves in the world! This top 10 list features some of the richest and wealthiest countries on earth that have tons of gold bars stacked up somewhere! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "SURPRISING And Interesting Facts About Money!" video here: https://youtu.be/ONpChSPqVc4 Watch our "Most AMAZING Discoveries With A Metal Detector!" video here: https://youtu.be/45JveYKafVo Watch our "Most EXPENSIVE Diamonds In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/RcZATf3Lmb0 10.) India According to the World Gold Council, the Bank of India currently holds 557.7 tons of gold. It is one of the largest stores of gold in the world! This makes up 9.9 % of the country’s total foreign reserve. Foreign exchange reserves is money or other assets held by a nation’s central bank so they can back the national currency. India, home to 1.25 billion people, is the number one largest consumer of the precious metal. Furthermore, India is one of the most reliable drivers of global demand. For example, India’s festival and wedding season, which runs from October to December, has historically been a major market for gold. And probably, one of the most interesting facts about India and gold is that India rarely invests much in gold. This is because as a country, India operates under the belief that buying gold leads to a deficit. And their belief must be proving right as things also seem to be improving for India. For instance, if you look at the last few years, India has increased its gold reserves from 557.74 to 557.77. While this might not seem like a lot, India is also at its highest point in history! In addition to what the country holds, Indian households which are considered the world’s largest hoarders of gold, hold a record 23,000-24,000 tons, which is worth about $800 billion. 9.) Netherlands In the past few years, the Netherlands has held 52% of its foreign reserve in gold. The Netherlands has a reported 612.45 tons. In 2016 it was reported that the bank was looking for a place to store all its gold because they were going to renovate the vaults and needed to moving it. The Dutch central bank is planning to move the country’s gold reserves from the center of Amsterdam to a new complex called the Cash Center. Like most countries, Dutch gold is also held in banks around the world to reduce risk. Security measures to guard the gold 24/7 have become a problem in Amsterdam. 189,000 kilos of gold will be moved at the beginning of 2022. Maybe this is one reason that over the last decade and a half, the Netherlands was selling off tons of gold in order to reduce its reserve. However, there weren’t that many buyers out there and they sold less than the country wanted. More recently the country has had less ambition to sell gold. Currently, the country holds the same amount of tons, 612.45 that they have over the last few years. However, the country has increased its percentage of foreign reserves to 61.2 %. 8.) Japan Japan is another country which had been increasing its gold reserves since the 1960’s. Their official gold holdings were reported at 765.2 tons. About 2.4% of Japan’s gold today is in foreign reserve. Historically, Japan has always held a bit more gold than other countries. This was true until 2011, when they began to sell some of their reserve in order to pump money into the economy after the tsunami and the following Fukushima nuclear disaster. But even with selling, Japan’s central bank has been one of the most aggressive practitioners of quantitative easing. For example, in January of 2016, it lowered interest rates below zero, which has helped fuel demand in gold around the world. 7.) Switzerland Prior to 1997, Switzerland was steadily building its gold reserves. In 1997, the decision was made to sell some of those reserves to bolster the Swiss currency and diversify the foreign reserves. The percent of foreign reserves in Switzerland is currently 6.7 %. Switzerland actually has the world’s largest reserves of gold per capita and currently has reported 1,040 tons. Over time, many citizens in the country started to feel like the bank was getting rid of too much gold. They then banded together with the “Save the Swiss” movement. However, once everyone was able to vote in 2014, the vote came to a no, and gold continued to be sold. During World War II, Switzerland became the center of the gold trade in Europe, making transactions with both the Allies and Axis powers. Today, much of its gold trading is done with Hong Kong and China. Around last year, the Swiss National Bank made a $5.9 billion profit, reportedly from its gold holdings. The 18 reasons to buy senior gold mining companies -- Dr John Wolstencroft talks to Dominic Frisby

35:12
Subscribe to our newsletter at http://www.goldmoney.com/goldresearch. Private investor Dr John Wolstencroft and the GoldMoney Foundation's Dominic Frisby talk about investing in senior gold mining companies. Wolstencroft presents his 18 thoughts on why the big gold mining companies currently offer a very interesting investment opportunity. Wolstencroft states that we are very lucky to see the major gold miners at valuation levels not seen for a long time. He emphasises that those valuations can be made without the shaky gold reserve assumptions that have been used in the past to promote these stock when they were not showing great profits. But now -- on the basis of actual P/E ratios, cash flow or dividend yields -- many of these companies are now cheap. He points out that the problem of rising production costs has been overstated. Many seniors also have reasonable growth prospects, and face fewer production barriers than many smaller producers. Furthermore senior mining companies are usually a lot less risky, because their income streams are diversified over different mines in different countries, and among different metals. Further advantages according to Wolstencroft are their negotiating strength and low replacement costs. He emphasises that boring is fun, stating that with the low valuations of the seniors one can avoid the many risks that come with investing in junior miners. Royalty companies and miners with zero cash costs due to the sale of mining by-products can also offer enticing investment opportunities. This podcast was recorded on June 1 2012.

It’s “Buy Time” For Gold Mining Stocks – Fund Manager

05:24
According to the “mining clock,” a concept used to measure commodity cycles, we are now in the first third of a bull cycle, said Bob Thompson, Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager of Raymond James. “The mining clock is just a simple way to see what’s happening in the market, reverse engineer that, and then tells you where we are in the cycle – are we near the end of the cycle or the beginning of the cycle, and it tells you if we’re in a bull market or a bear market,” Thompson told Kitco News on the sidelines of the PDAC 2019. According to Thompson, mining companies go through natural cycles from becoming overleveraged near the end of a bull run to becoming cash-flow positive, which is where we currently are, and the mining clock indicates that now is a good time to buy. _________________________________________________________________ Kitco News is the world’s #1 source of metals market information. John Hathaway: Things Look Very Bullish For Gold Mining Stocks

45:49
Full description and comments at: https://www.peakprosperity.com/podcast/114613/john-hathaway-things-look-very-bullish-gold-mining-stocks Since gold topped out in 2011, the precious metals mining sector has been where investor capital goes to die. Mining stocks have performed miserably over the past seven years, missing out completely on the central bank-created liquidity-fest that has raised nearly every other equity sector to record highs. But the long winter of abuse is over, claims highly-respected mining analyst John Hathaway, co-manager of the Toqueville Gold Fund. To John's veteran eye, the conditions in this beleaguered industry have improved substantially. Mining supply is tightening while demand is rising, and the surviving companies have achieved positive cash flows at today's depressed prices. Claiming that we are now past "peak gold", Hathaway expects gold prices to move higher vigorously, propelling the shares of mining companies multiples higher from where they are today.

Golden Gamble. Gold mining in the Philippines, a dirty business

25:41
More films about the Philippines: https://rtd.rt.com/tags/philippines/ - The use of child labour in the Philippine’s Paracale, or ‘Goldtown’, is widespread - Extracting gold involves diving into mud-filled shafts and using toxic mercury - Poverty and lack of alternative jobs force people into this highly dangerous work - Many die young due to work accidents or breathing problems, others develop chronic illness The Philippines’ town of Paracale was dubbed “Goldtown” for its rich deposits of the precious metal. Despite government attempts to regulate mining, illegal pits are still commonplace. They lack even the most basic health and safety and workers are exposed to toxic mercury fumes. Dirty water causes skin diseases and they live with the constant threat of being buried alive. Workers continue to take these risks day after day, because there is no other source of income. Many of the gold miners are children whose families can’t afford to send them to school. Some gold is panned on the surface, but a lot has to be extracted from underground. To do that, prospectors dive into narrow, mud-filled shafts, uses snorkelling masks and long tubes too breathe. If the mine collapses, they have no chance of escape. They have a saying here, ‘while you’re down the mine, you have one foot in the grave’. Several miners have already died that way, others from respiratory diseases caused by inhaling mercury fumes. The toxic metal is used in gold extraction with no safety precautions, so it poisons the air, the ground and the water, causing long-term harm to the whole community. Another danger to the inhabitants of Paracale comes from disused mines, abandoned and left open, waiting for unsuspecting victims to fall in. The business takes its toll on workers, their families and the community. They have been known to demonstrate, demanding safer working conditions, better pay and other job opportunities, but change is slow. Meanwhile, extreme poverty among people who produce one of the world’s most precious metals leaves them no option but to continue with this pitiless occupation. Gold Mining in South Dakota | Largest Gold Mine in North America | Documentary | 1940

The Homestake Mine was a deep underground gold mine located in Lead, South Dakota. Until it closed in 2002 it was the largest and deepest gold mine in North America. The mine produced more than 40 million troy ounces (approximately 1.25 million kilograms) of gold during its lifetime. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * History of the Homestake Mine: The Homestake deposit was discovered by Fred and Moses Manuel, Alex Engh and Hank Harney in April 1876, during the Black Hills Gold Rush. A trio of mining entrepreneurs, George Hearst, Lloyd Tevis, and James Ben Ali Haggin, bought it from them for $70,000 the following year. George Hearst arrived at the mine in October 1877, and took active control of the property. Hearst had to haul in all the mining equipment by wagons from the nearest railhead in Sidney, Nebraska. Arthur De Wint Foote worked as an engineer. Despite the remote location, an 80-stamp mill began crushing Homestake ore in July 1878. The partners sold shares in the Homestake Mining Company, and listed it on the New York Stock Exchange in 1879. The Homestake would become one of the longest-listed stocks in the history of the NYSE (Con Edison's original name was New York Gas Light and was listed in 1824). Hearst consolidated and enlarged the Homestake property by fair and foul means. He bought out some adjacent claims, and secured others in the courts. By the time Hearst left the Black Hills in March 1879, he had added the claims of Giant, Golden Star, Netty, May Booth, Golden Star No. 2, Crown Point, Sunrise, and General Ellison to the original two claims of the Manuel Brothers, Golden Terra and Old Abe, totaling 30 acres. The ten-stamp mill had become 200, and 500 employees worked in the mine, mills, offices and shops. He owned the Boulder Ditch and water rights to Whitewood Creek, monopolizing the region. His railroad, Black Hills & Fort Pierre Railroad, gave him access to eastern Dakota territory. By 1900, the Homestake owned 300 claims, on 2000 acres, and was worked by more than 2000 employees. In 1901, the mine started using compressed air locomotives, replacing the mules and horses by the 1920s. Charles Washington Merrill introduced cyanidization to augment mercury-amalgamation for gold recovery. "Cyanide Charlie" finally achieved 94 per cent recovery. The gold was shipped to the Denver Mint. By 1906, the Ellison Shaft reached 1,550 feet, the B&M 1,250 feet, the Golden Star 1,100 feet, and the Golden Prospect 900 feet, producing 1,500,000 tons of ore. A disastrous fire struck on 25 March 1907, which took forty days to extinguish after the mine was flooded. Another disastrous fire struck in 1919. In 1927, company geologist Donald H. McLaughlin used a winze from the 2,000 level to demonstrate ore reached the 3,500 foot level. The Ross shaft was started in 1934, a second winze from the 3,500 foot level reached 4,100 feet, and a third winze from 4,100 feet was started in 1937. The Yates shaft was started in 1938. Production ceased from 1943 until 1945, due to Limitation Order L-208 from the Government. By 1975, mining operations has reached the 6,800 foot level, and two winzes were planned to 8,000 feet. Adrian Day – Gold Mining Stocks Has Anything Changed

34:46
To subscribe to our newsletter and get notified of new shows, please visit http://palisaderadio.com Adrian discusses the gold mining sector, and he notes that only two gold stocks have outperformed gold itself in recent years. This underperformance is one of the reasons why many investors are not particularly interested in the sector. There are many inherent problems in mining, and poor management decisions exacerbate this. Some of the problems with mining companies include resource depletion, fewer discoveries, higher costs, unexpected losses, debt, government regulation, and low prices. There is twenty year period where the market moves from peak discovery to peak production. Grades are declining at mines worldwide and new mines have lower grades than existing mines. High-grading of mines is often done to maintain cash-flow, but it amounts to stealing from the future. Costs have risen considerably in the past few years in spite of lower oil prices and a strong U.S. dollar. Gold prices have also risen and yet mining companies are still not producing profits. Adrian says mining companies have overpaid for marginal assets in the good times. They seem to forget that precious metals are a long-term cyclical market. As a result, there are often massive write-offs. Exploration companies have a hard time finding high-quality assets. It’s very much like looking for a needle-in-a-haystack. Another problem is they don’t generate cash-flow instead to raise cash they usually dilute their stocks and suppress their share prices. Many don’t even spend on actual exploration it often all goes to the management. In spite of all of this Adrian feels that we are poised for one hundred percent moves in gold stocks in the not too distant future and if one chooses carefully possibly much more.

Doug Casey: Most Mining Stocks "Are Just Crap", Except These Ones (Part 3)

Doug Casey, founder of Casey Research, prefer the royalty streaming companies over traditional miners. In an interview with Kitco News on the sidelines of the Silver & Gold Summit in San Francisco, Casey said that he likes dividends in miners. “Now is an excellent time to buy into the mining business, even though it is the worst business in the world from a business point of view. It is a crappy, 19th century, choo-choo train business but the good news is that when these stocks are cheap and everybody hates them, these stocks are explosive on the upside,” he said. _________________________________________________________________ Kitco News is the world’s #1 source of metals market information. Exposing The Inhumane Conditions Of Burkina Faso's Gold Mines

29:23
Gold Dust: Under Blaise Compaore's leadership, Burkina Faso's unregulated gold rush has had a devastating effect on mining conditions. This report digs deep into the industry, exposing the corruption beneath Compaore's ruling. Millions of people - including children as young as fourteen - mine in an unregulated industry for a few golden grams of hope. Marcel toils underground to support his family - but without the glittering rewards promised. “We all have hope, we hope to earn” he says, but "they rob us here...They treat the miner like an animal." 17-year old Soumaele has been mining for two years. His thin body can go to even deeper than the older men, to places where the air is impossible to breathe and the tunnels are likely to collapse. Gold promises a great deal, but in an anarchic industry, teacher Soungalo Hema fears for the future of children like Soumaele: "You try and save them", she says, "but a lot of the time it’s in vain. I ask myself 'what will happen to all of us?'" Illegal gold mines operating in Ivory Coast

03:44
(3 Jul 2017) LEADIN Illegal gold mining in Ivory Coast is still widespread in the country's north despite government efforts to control it. Local officials complain too many men and women are joining the continuing gold rush and leaving farms without enough labour. STORYLINE At an illegal mine in Tongon in the far north of Ivory Coast, around fifty kilometres from the border with Burkina Faso, miners have dug a 20 metre shaft into a layer of gold bearing rock. Rocks are hauled to the surface before being pounded into a powder. It's very a labour intensive and sometimes dangerous process. Illegal mining has been blamed for uncontrolled migration between countries in the region, unchecked pollution and for fuelling violence. Miners move around, following the latest gossip of where gold is to be found. Miner Hamed Ouedraogo has come from northern neighbour Burkina Faso: "Often when we are moving about we hear of new mines that have been started and that are people are going there, so we head there too." Although operating without permits, miners have machinery on hand to help them and receive a small salary from the illegal mine's owners, often businessmen working with the help of corrupt local officials. It is something authorities have been trying to stamp out as they encourage international investors into the sector. George Gueu Gombadji, the Prefect of Boundiali region says that it means that agriculture is also suffering as there are fewer men to work the land. "This (illegal gold mining) is causing a major loss off of the nation's riches. It has reached such a scale that the supply of agricultural labourers is drying up as they all go mining instead," he says. Illegal mining took off during the years prior to Ivory Coast's 2011 civil war, with rebels occupying much of the north. While the money doesn't flow into the state's coffers, run-off from the illegal mining pollutes water courses. Ouedraogo says the gold will be sold off wherever it can attract the highest prices: "In Burkina Faso the price is higher, a gramme (of gold) can go up to 30,000 West African francs (51 US dollars)." He says in Ivory Coast the going rate is 12,500 francs (21 US dollars) per gramme. Not far away are the offices of Randgold Resources, a NASDAQ and London stock exchange listed gold mining company. They operate legally, holding an official permit to mine in the area. They operate on an entirely different scale to the illegal miners - the Tongon mine, operated in partnership with the state, comprises two massive open cast mines. According to Randgold's own figures, last year they extracted 260,556 ounces of gold at this mine in Ivory Coast, that is over 7 metric tonnes, generating over 121 (m) million US dollars in profit. Bodiel N'diaye, the company's country director recently gathered journalists to explain why he is unhappy with the impact of the illegal mining. "These people come and set up in areas where they do not have the right to operate. Take our concessions for example, where we have a government licence (to mine). When we come to start working, we can't because these people are occupying the site illegally, they have no authorisation from the supervising ministry. They don't follow the laws," he says. Government efforts to crackdown on the illegal mining have done little to stop the practice. The illegal miners simply move on or across borders briefly before returning. How to Make Money In Mining - Nolan Watson of Sandstorm Gold Interview

13:19
GUEST: http://SandstormLTD.com VISIT US & get Full Transcript: http://futuremoneytrends.com/blog/?p=10561 Partial Transcript: FutureMoneyTrends.com: Thank you for joining us at FutureMoneyTrends.com. We're here with Nolan Watson, he's the CEO and founder of Sandstorm Gold and Sandstorms Metals & Energy. These are two very high quality junior resource stocks that are very unique because they're a lender for the resource sector. He actually previously worked for Silver Wheaton, which I know everyone will know. Nolan, thank you for joining us. Nolan Watson: Thank you. Thanks for having me. FutureMoneyTrends.com: Nolan let's start off. First of all, we're at the Casey Summit. You are on their NexTen list, this is a special list for people who are under 40, correct? Nolan Watson: Yes. FutureMoneyTrends.com: So you're under 40 years old, very successful, you've already made these guys a lot of money, and your company is unique, I don't think anyone else in there is a royalty company. So if you could just introduce people to what is the idea of a royalty company. Because most people when they buy a gold miner they buy these guys who are drilling holes and they're mining it. What do you guys do at Sandstorm Gold? Nolan Watson: Well at Sandstorm Gold we are what you would call a streaming and/or royalty company. So we have right now nine gold streams from mines around the world. The majority of those gold streams are in production. What a stream effectively is, is we'll give a mining company money on day one so they can go build their mine. What we get back in return is a contract that allows us to buy a certain percentage of their production at a fixed price per ounce and we go on and sell it at spot. So the contract might say something like: 'We get to buy fifteen percent of their production at 500 dollars an ounce and every time they give us an ounce we buy it at five hundred and sell it the same day for spot price'. And so we have this stream of cash flow coming back because we're buying and selling the gold from various mines around the world. And that's why we call ourselves a streaming company. But we also, we just actually closed the acquisition of a royalty company as well, so we now have 25, I believe, royalties around the world, and those royalties a number of them are paying cash flow as well. So it's a good place to be to have positive cash flow in this environment. FutureMoneyTrends.com: Yeah, how does it work when gold collapses the way it has, from 1900 down to 1200? How does that affect your agreements? Do you have something in there? What if the mining companies who you've loaned money to, they're not even profitable... How is their obligation then to you? How does that work? Nolan Watson: Yeah, so right now 84% of our production comes from assets that have cash costs in the 600 dollar range and all in sustaining costs when you include exploration and GNA and all those types of things in the sort of thousand to thousand fifty dollars an ounce. So, even in today's gold price, which has come all the way down to 1300 dollars an ounce, the vast majority of our partners are producing quite a bit of profit actually. And that's actually fundamentally what we're trying to do when we go and do these deals. We get calls every week from companies that we have to say no to because we know that they're going to be high cost operations. What we are looking for, what our technical teams are looking for, what our corporate development guys are looking for are what's going to be low cost producers. So that's what we focus on. FutureMoneyTrends.com: How about the capital markets in general for the junior resource sector? How are the mining companies doing as far as money and cash on hand. Nolan Watson: Generally speaking, they're doing terrible. It is absolutely brutal out there. There is almost no cash to be had, there's a number of mining companies trying to raise money that cannot raise money. There's been a record low number of financings, it's a record low amount of financing rates this year. It is very very dire circumstances. A lot of companies are going insolvent. Even this morning actually as I was walking through this conference here, I received an email from a bankruptcy firm that is putting various gold assets up for auction and wanting people to bid on insolvent gold mines. It's really really bad out there. Now having said that, I think there is positive signs for bottom-feeding investors who recognize that valuations are low, and right now there are deals to be had in the mining industry, it's just nobody wants to be first. They don't want to try to catch the falling knife.
