I am in Omsk. In this video, you can see how to get a tourist sim in Russia. Also, you will come to know how to get Russian Ruble. Instead of using a money exchanger I used an ATM which had its services available in English. Surprisingly, I got an excellent exchange rate by using the ATM. I have shared the ATM's receipt and the SMS I got from my Indian bank in the video. I don't know this happened because of the Indian bank or it was a special feature of the Russian bank which owns the ATM. I can recommend this bank's ATM to every traveller as it gives a better exchange rate. In this video, there is a query about a free offer provided by the mobile operator. AUSTRIAN 20 SCHILLING Carl Ritter

06:36
Austria Banknotes 20 Schilling banknote 1967 Carl Ritter von Ghega National Bank of Austria - Österreichische Nationalbank Obverse: Portrait of Carl Ritter von Ghega. The engraving on banknote was made from lithograph by Austrian lithographer and painter Josef Kriehuber in 1851. Coat of arms of Austria at lower center. Reverse: Semmering railway with surrounding mountain scenery. Carl Ritter von Ghega Carl Ritter von Ghega or Karl von Ghega (10 January 1802 – 14 March 1860) was the designer of the Semmering Railway from Gloggnitz to Mürzzuschlag. During his time, he was the most prominent of Austrian railway engineers and architects. Born in Venice as Carlo Ghega from an Albanian family. His father, Anton Ghega, was an officer in the Austrian navy in the government service. he studied in Padua, where he took the examination for doctor of mathematics at the age of 18. He was attached to the Imperial board of Public Buildings when the railway movement commencing throughout Europe attracted his attention. He began his engineering career with road and hydraulic engineering in Venice. Among other things he contributed to the building of the road over Cortina d'Ampezzo to Toblach. From 1836 to 1840 he was a construction supervisor for the railway track from Brno to Břeclav, the so-called Emperor Ferdinand North Railway. During this time, in 1836 and 37 he studied also the railways in England and other European countries. In 1842, entrusted with the entire planning of the future state railway, he made a study trip to North America. After his return to the state railway he began with the planning of the railway line to the south, from Mürzzuschlag to Graz and Trieste. The crossing of the Semmering was not believed possible, but as early as 1844 he submitted a plan for the crossing of the Semmering, with locomotives without an extra rail for gear wheels. Before the building was fully decided, he began to enforce the construction of locomotives which could overcome such upward gradients. Construction of the Semmeringbahn was begun in 1848 and completed in 1854. In 1856, the Borovnica viaduct, one of the most imposing railroad bridges of the era, was built upon the plans by von Ghega as part of the Austrian Southern Railway from Vienna to Trieste. In 1851, Ghega was knighted (Ritter) for his services to the country, and in 1853 he was made chief of planning for the whole railway network of the Austrian Empire. Carl von Ghega was next assigned to the building of a railway in Transylvania, but he could not see this project to its end because of his death in Vienna from tuberculosis. Semmering Railway The Semmering railway, Austria, which started at Gloggnitz and leads over the Semmering to Mürzzuschlag was the first mountain railway in Europe built with a standard gauge track. It is commonly referred to as the world's first true mountain railway, given the very difficult terrain and the considerable altitude difference that was mastered during its construction. It is still fully functional as a part of the South railway which is operated by the Austrian Federal Railways. The Semmering railway was constructed between 1848 and 1854 by some 20,000 workers under the project's designer and director Carl von Ghega born in Venice as Carlo Ghega in an Albanian family. The construction features 14 tunnels (among them the 1,431 m vertex tunnel), 16 viaducts (several two-story) and over 100 curved stone bridges as well as 11 small iron bridges. The stations and the buildings for the supervisors were often built directly from the waste material produced in the course of tunnel construction. Across an overall track length of 41 km the Semmering railway overcomes an altitude difference of 460 m; on 60% of its length the gradient is 2.0-2.5% (equivalent to a 1-meter difference in altitude on a 40 m route distance) and 16% exhibit a curvature radius of only 190 m. This was an entirely new technical dimension of railway construction, and new instruments and methods of surveying had to be developed to handle the resulting challenges. Also, new technologies were employed for the Engerth locomotives because the types in general use at this time could not handle the extreme gradients and turning radii. Even while being built the Semmering railway was perceived as an effort of "landscape gardening", i.e. it attempted a harmonious combination of technology and nature. The unique travel experience which the Semmering railway offered contributed significantly to the original opening of the Semmering region for tourism. Numerous hotels and mansions are witnesses of this epoch.

Swiss National Bank Abandons Euro Ceiling: Why the franc soared 30%

07:21
A Swiss bombshell: Why did the franc soar 30%? Zoe Fiddes, Head of Sales at ORE.com comments. PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! Swiss National Bank abandons Euro Ceiling. On January 15th 2015 the Swiss National Bank (SNB) suddenly decided and communicated to market participants that it would cease holding the Swiss franc at a fixed exchange rate with the euro and there was panic in the markets! On Wednesday an EURO was the equivalent of about 1.2 Swiss francs; at one point on Thursday its value had fallen to just 0.85 francs. Why Did the Swiss National Bank Unpeg the Swiss Franc? The shock and awe that followed the Swiss National Bank’s decision have left many professionals scratching their heads, One commentator said, 'I do not recall a currency peg that was broken in such a manner as the recent Swiss Bank event. This event was reminiscent of the stock market crash of 1987 where markets lost nearly 25%, and several price moves in markets in 2008-9 that approached 10%' What happened on that day is about a 30% move down EUR/CHF (Swiss), and a 20% move down in USD/CHF which is just extraordinary and unfortunately potentially very damaging for traders and brokers who traded those pairs.

Wide of people walking into shop, poster in shop window explaining euros STORYLINE: Slovenia adopted the Euro on Monday, becoming the thirteenth EU (European Union) nation to use the single European currency. The Slovene tolar and the euro will be in dual use until January 15, when the euro will officially take over as the country's sole legal tender. Prime Minister Janez Jansa called the switch the biggest national achievement since the tiny Alpine country of two (m) million joined the EU in 2004. Slovenia, a former Yugoslav republic, is the only one of the ten nations that joined at that time to have fulfilled the rigorous economic criteria needed to join the euro zone. More than two-thirds of the country's cash machines were fully operating in euros by late morning, while gas stations and highway toll booths switched immediately as the New Year kicked off. There were no reports of any glitches. A recent EU survey showed more than 70 percent of Slovenes happy to embrace the euro, with many saying they see it as further proof they are part of mainstream Europe. Andre, a resident of Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, said it was "cool" that his country had changed to the euro. "It's nice to have a common currency, strong currency," Andre said. "I just paid for me first coffee, yes with tolars but I got euros back," he added. Matejaz, who also lives in Ljubljana, agreed that changing to the euro would be good for Slovenia. "We live near the border with Austria so a common currency can be useful," Matejaz said. Slovenes adopted the currency at a rate of 239.640 tolars to one euro as of January 1. To preserve its national identity in the uniform euro zone, Slovenia used its right to display its national symbols on the euro coins it mints in the country. Only 20 years ago, Slovenia was a communist republic with annual inflation running up to 1,500 percent; now inflation is 1.9 percent, lower than Germany's. Its economic growth was four percent last year, well above the EU's average of 1.4 percent. The addition of Slovenia expands the euro zone to a population of 316.6 (m) million. EXPOSED: Bank of England Calls For MASSIVE £4 BILLION Bail-In of Banks By 2022!

18:39
Josh Sigurdson talks with author and economic analyst John Sneisen about the recent call by the Bank of England to bail-in banks and accumulate £4 BILLION in bail-in debt by the year 2022. According to the Bank of England, this measure is to avoid a massive bail out in the coming years, but the fact is, the global banking system is crumbling at its foundation and this is just another way to steal depositors' money. As John points out, this is mostly targeting bond holders. Bail-ins are when banks take depositors' money to pay off their risky debt and investment losses. It's a so-called safeguard which dramatically affects individuals who have money in the bank. Technically a bank can cash out an entire account. This goes to show what we at WAM talk about all the time. If your money's in the bank, it's not yours, it's the bank's. Bail-ins were first historically noted in an ESF book from 1997, but most notably since 2009. Bail-in regimes have been written into the Canadian budget, used in places like Greece and Spain and attempted in Italy. This whole story is further proof of the distress in the banking system and with governments across the board. This goes to show that the regards of the individual are not taken into account. This will likely come down sooner than 2022 and is yet another sign of not only the banks' desperation but the power shift that's currently happening before our eyes. Stay tuned for more from WAM! http://bit.ly/subscribeMT & http://www.touristhelpline.com/istanbul-airport-guide-taxi-metro-sim-atm-istanbulkart-my-experience/ This video is based on my experience at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Information shared in this video is based on - the best and cheapest way to go from Istanbul airport to city centre. I travelled via Istanbul Metro from Istanbul airport to Sultan Ahmet, a tourist hub in Istanbul. I have also shared inputs on sim card in Turkey. For eg, I have mentioned the cost of Turkcell and Vodafone sim available at the airport. Although there are many other sim card companies in Turkey which you will come to know in upcoming videos. What is the best way to get Turkish Lira at the airport! I used the HSBC atm at Istanbul airport to withdraw money. Though I got a poor exchange rate. After withdrawing the money I purchased a smartcard which is valid in all trams, metro, buses and even toilets in Istanbul, the name of this smartcard is IstanbulKart. Austrian Central Bank Addresses Gold Repatriation | Kitco News & CME Group Coverage

05:42
More and more European central banks seem to be convinced that hauling back its gold is the best strategy, and Kitco News speaks with Peter Mooslechner, executive director of the Österreichische Nationalbank, at the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) conference in Vienna, to get his take on the matter. According to the central banker, Austria asked to get its gold back as part of a general court order in the country, looking to ship back around £3.5 billion worth of gold from the Bank of England over the next five years. According to Mooslechner, the general counsel thought that the concentration of gold holdings at the Bank of England is a little bit too high and wanted the central bank to reduce concentration risk there. ‘We decided to go a little bit more in the direction of diversification, so we will bring a bit back to Austria - in fact, in the end, 50% of our gold holdings should be kept in Austria,’ he explained. Mooslechner noted that the role of gold for central bankers has shifted, especially for smaller ones in the euro zone. ‘It was of big importance during the period of the Brenton Woods system…but it has now become part of a much greater monetary and economic area,’ he noted. ‘It has transformed into something like the basic part of reserves to be held as a liquidity buffer or for security reasons, but not so much as an active part of management of gold reserves anymore,’ he added. Mooslechner also commented on the economic situation in Europe, stating that he is optimistic on the recovery despite low inflation in the region. ‘I personally think that we are still on track.’ Kitco News, October 20, 2015. The Bail-In Regime In Austria - It's Just The Beginning

07:12
Author and economic analyst John Sneisen talks to Josh Sigurdson about the bail-in regime seen previously in Austria at Hypo Alpe Adria and what's happened recently relating to that event. Bail-ins are just an excuse for blind robbery. The money in the bank is not yours until you take it out. That's contractual. The big banks are being insured by bail-in regimes by robbing the customer. In order to pay off their debts they can just empty bank accounts, RRSPs and pensions. Canada has recently renewed their bail-in regime policies as one of the first countries in the world to have legislation written into the budget regarding bail-ins. We don't want to see what happened in Cyprus happen here or anywhere for that matter. That's why we give you all our opinions on these topics so that you can make the decision whether or not to keep your money in the bank and how to keep yourself and your family safe in an economic downturn. It's crucial in this day and age to have an understanding of the monetary system and what the coercive state is capable of. We will continue to update you on this topic! Stay tuned! What Will Happen to My Euros?

05:01
So, are the days of the euro numbered? is it on its way to the garbage heap of history? No. The euro is here to stay. Current Eurozone members like Greece and Portugal may be forced to leave the club - but the inner core: Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland and even some new members such as Slovakia and Estonia - will remain. The composition of the Eurozone membership is immaterial. The euro can actually benefit from such developments. But, if the membership changes, if countries abandon the project, would it still be the same currency? Yes, it will. The US dollar was legal tender in the 19th century when the US was comprised of only 20 states (and had no central bank, by the way) as it is today with 50 states. The ruble served the USSR and now is Russia's currency. The Yugoslav dinar survived economic crises and wars as did the German mark. Still, what if the euro is cancelled? What will happen to my money? The answer depends on the form in which you hold your money: cash, deposits, or savings. Cash, deposits, and savings will all be exchanged for reinstated local currencies, probably at the original rates at which these currencies were converted to euros a decade ago. So, if you have euros in Germany and the euro goes belly up, you will receive newly-minted Deutschmarks at a rate of 1.95 times the amount of euros you possess. New interest rates will apply, of course. Quotas will be imposed on cash conversions in the first 6-12 months of transition and savings and deposits are likely to be involuntarily "extended" (read: frozen). Withdrawals from savings accounts and deposits will possibly be limited to a certain percentage of the principal per month. What if I live in a non-euro country but have a deposit or savings account denominated in euros? In all probability, the same rules will apply: your euros will be converted to the local currency at the last known rate published by the domestic central bank or by the European Central Bank. You will be able to convert only a certain percentage of your money per month and access to your deposits and savings will be limited and rationed, at least initially. What happens if my bank goes bankrupt? If you have a deposit or savings account with a prime (major) European bank, the governments of the Eurozone will likely nationalize it at the first sign of trouble. Deposits up to 100,000 euros are anyhow guaranteed by the state throughout the European Union. Only small, regional and obscure banks in non-Eurozone members represent a real risk. So, should I stick to euros or should I sell the euros and buy US dollars, or, better still, Swiss francs? Swiss francs are likely to be a bad investment this coming year. The currency is heavily overvalued and the Swiss National Bank (SNB) often intervenes in the currency markets to bring it back to equilibrium with other major currencies. The US dollar is a "refuge currency" (safe haven): it appreciates only in times of severe crises. Otherwise, it has been drifting downwards ever since the 1980s. Still, its prospects are good this year. My advice is: if you are not a professional currency speculator, stick with the euro. As a currency the euro represents true vale and is reasonably priced. You may wish to divide your money to 3 or 5 parts and invest it in several currencies to hedge your bets via diversification.

It has citizens, companies and its own Central Bank. And as the previous ten years have shown all Russians are natural economists and currency dealers, so they will gradually start exchanging their cash now kept under pillows, especially those who plan to travel to Europe for business or pleasure. But this applies only to those who have savings." 20. Cutaway of cameras STORYLINE: The euro made its debut in Moscow on Thursday, but only a few banks have so far been authorised to exchange rubles for Europe's new currency. Not that many Russians appear keen. Most bank customers were exchanging dollars, in which they keep cash savings, for rubles. But public interest - or need - for the euro is expected to grow as people start planning for trips to Europe. The 12 countries that have switched to the new currency are Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. National currencies will circulate side by side with the euro for up to two months to help ease the transition, but European Central Bank officials are hoping that most people will use only euros after the first two weeks. Denmark, Sweden and the United Kingdom are the only European Union members to keep their own currencies. Expensive World Currencies in 2019 - [SPEECH + TEXT]

04:48
Amazing Facts From Around The World *SUBSCRIBE ME* Youtube: https://bit.ly/2VxTti3 Instagram: Twitter: *----------* Most Expensive World Currencies in 2019 1. Kuwait Dinar 1 Kuwait Dinar = 3.29 American Dollar Kuwait Dinar is the highest world currency against US Dollar. Kuwait is the small country with enormous wealth. Highest value of its currency is explained by significant oil goods exports into the global market. 2. Bahrain Dinar 1 Bahrain Dinar = 2.65 American Dollar Bahrain Dinar is the second most valuable currency. Bahrain is the Persian Gulf island state with population of a little more than 1 million people. As in the first case, this country largest income is the “black gold" exports. It is interesting that Bahrain Dinar is pegged to American Dollar exchange rate, and its rate against American Dollar stays the same for 14 years already. 3. Oman Rial 1 Oman Rial = 2.60 American Dollar Oman is the Arabian Peninsula country. According to its strategic location, it obtains developed economy and high life quality. Oman Rial is also pegged to American Dollar as Bahrain Dinar. It is considerable that purchase power of this currency is so high that the government has to issue 1/4 and 1/2 Rial paper banknotes. On the picture above, you can see 1/2 Rial (Half Rial). 4. Jordan Dinar 1 Jordan Dinar = 1.41 American Dollar It is hard to explain high value of Jordan Dinar. This country is not economically developed and it lacks essential resources, such as oil. Never the less, one Jordan Dinar costs 1.41 US Dollar, what makes it one of 10 the most powerful world currencies. 5. British Pound 1 British Pound = 1.26 American Dollar Most people think that British Pound is the strongest world currency, but it only closes the top five of this list. By the way, British Colonies issue its own banknotes, which visually differs from banknotes issued by the Bank of England, but they are rated as 1 per 1. Therefore, there are several of them: Scottish, North Ireland, Manx, Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar Pounds, as well as St. Elena Island Pound and Folkland Islands Pound. Amusingly, but native Britain do not always want to accept “other” Pounds as a payment. 6. Cayman Islands Dollar 1 Cayman Islands Dollar = 1.20 American Dollar Cayman Islands is one of the best world tax havens. These islands provided authority for hundreds of banks, hedge funds and insurance companies. Especially, thanks to its leadership among tax havens, Cayman Islands Dollar costs near 1.22 American Dollar. 7. European Euro 1 Euro = 1.14 American Dollar The euro currency has strengthened over the past few years. This allowed it to raise the list of the most powerful currencies. Partially, its strength is explained by the fact that it is the official world currency in European countries among which you will find several economically developed countries. Besides, Euro is the second reserve world currency enveloping 22.2% of all world savings (American Dollar has 62.3%). 8. Swiss Franc 1 Swiss Franc = 1.04 American Dollar Switzerland is not only one of the richest countries in the world, but it is also one of the most stable. Its bank system is known for its resolute “Bank Secrecy”. Besides, its high-tech goods are estimated all around the globe. Pay attention looking at original view of this banknote. This is the only banknote I saw which has the vertical view. 9. American Dollar Owing to USA world economic leadership, its currency achieved such a title as “World Reserve Currency”. In other words, you can make dollar payments everywhere (in any country). 10. Canadian dollar 1 Canadian dollar = 0.75 American Dollar The Canadian dollar is the fifth largest reserve world currency. Canadian dollar is often called the “loonie" in honor of the bird depicted on the coin worth 1 dollar. *----------* Text To Speech Software: Natural Reader Natural Reader: https://bit.ly/2gLxFvx Source Site: https://bit.ly/2pLs8d4 After Effects CC: https://adobe.ly/2Fh9RyL PhotoShop CC: https://adobe.ly/2Fi8COF Windows Movie Maker: Voice Effects = FL Studio: https://bit.ly/1MiFrpa #money #ExpensiveCurrencies #Currencies

After landing at the Bangkok airport (DMK) I searched for the ATMs to withdraw Thai Bahts, but eventually, I came to know that all the ATMs were on the other side of the building which can be approached only after getting the VoA. Still, I managed to get the visa. Watch this video to know - How? My blog: http://www.touristhelpline.com Contact me - https://www.facebook.com/page.mountaintrekker

Goldman Sachs Is Up To No Good! - Bank Sells $5.7 Billion In Bad Mortgages

07:47
Goldman Sachs is up to no good again as they sell $5.7 billion in bad mortgages. What they are likely to do with these mortgages they got purchased from Fannie May is repackage them into mortgage backed securities. They then sell them as collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) which they'll give a 'triple A' rating as they did in 2008. Then they will insure it with a credit default swap (CDS) to ensure they won't lose despite their continued failure. First, let us explain what Collateralized Debt Obligations are: When banks take mortgages and put them into a package and sell them to other people. Often a few of the mortgages are good, but they're packaged with almost entirely bad mortgages in order to rate them at the two or three top loans but still profit from the terrible deals. Most of the mortgages are worth nothing. Then they sell them off to a bunch of pension funds, usually government administrated. In Norway there were a bunch of government pension funds that went bankrupt due to collateralized debt obligations which collapsed. Then the banks go and insure them, they bet against their own investments which they created. They package them and sell them off. They don't touch the loans themselves. For more in depth information on 'Mortgage Backed Securities', 'Credit Default Swaps' and 'Collateralized Debt Obligations', please see our video titled 'BLOCKCHAIN 2016' with Stephen Kendal. Since 2008 banks like Citi Bank have hired theologians to ensure "ethics" in their banks. This is all a big joke to make the surface appear more friendly as the banks continue to get publicly exposed. These banksters do not care about people. They only care about making as much money as humanly possible, enslaving people in debt, pushing them into servitude and thriving off the debt of the populace. As author and economic analyst John Sneisen puts it, "They have hired countless lawyers and have put aside a fund to fund all the fines they get from this corrupt activity. They own the Federal Reserve and they own your life if you have your money in these institutions. They only care about making money off of your money at any cost." Of course if your money is in a bank, it is not your money, it's the bank's. They make risky investments with your loaned money which can leave a person bankrupt. It's also worth mentioning that most major banks have instituted "bail-in regimes" which empty depositors' bank accounts in order to pay off their insane debts due to their insane risks. Bail-ins have been implemented into the Federal budget in Canada under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and have been utilized in Cyprus, Greece, in Austria and at the world's oldest bank 'Monte dei Paschi di Siena' in Italy among others. According to documents World Alternative Media uncovered last year, bail-ins have been planned out for more than 20 years as 1997 Exchange Stabilization Fund papers prove. John Sneisen and Josh Sigurdson quickly break down the insanity of the continued corrupt actions of the major banks like Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. Stay tuned for more from WAM! Reax as Austria and Luxembourg in barrier to initiative on tax evasion

1. Wide of German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble at news conference 2. Mid of reporters 3. SOUNDBITE (German) Wolfgang Schaeuble, German Finance Minister: "This is a big step for Austria and Luxembourg, and this should not be taken less than it is. And this is why Luxembourg and Austria didn't want taxes on interest rates. They didn't want to decide on that officially, but they agreed to negotiate a contract with those countries." 4. News conference ending 5. Wide of Spanish Finance Minister Luis De Guindos at press conference 6. Mid of cameramen 7. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Luis De Guindos, Spanish Finance Minister: "Calculations are being made about how much money we are losing in terms of collection. You know that there are calculations around one (b) billion euros. I do not know if it's true or not, but, certainly, tax evasion in Europe is important and fundamental and we cannot leave uncovered holes. It's very important that information exchange be global. Right now, capital movements are global, so the fight against tax evasion must be global." 8. Wide of British Treasury chief George Osborne leaving EU Council building 9. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Fabrizio Saccomanni, Italian Finance Minister: "I think we are making progress with the accession of some countries to this initiation that we have launched with Germany, France, United Kingdom, Spain. And it will be the base for a European structure to fight against tax evasion, fraud, etc." 10. Cutaway of cameramen 11. SOUNDBITE (English) Swedish Finance Minister, Anders Borg: "Well, they are obviously in a difficult position but I mean Sweden is a country that has a lot of tax money over the year, so we really think we are moving towards transparency which I also think is good for the common good in terms of increase financial stability. But I think we should recognise some difficult steps that Austria and Luxembourg have to take." 12. Borg walks away (continuation of shot 11) STORYLINE: European Union Finance Ministers tried to push ahead their fight against tax evasion at a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, but could only secure agreement on one initiative due to a fight-back from two of its members. Austria and Luxembourg, both of which are renowned for their culture of banking secrecy, dodged a long-delayed initiative to automatically exchange banking information between all EU countries so that interest income can be properly taxed. The two holdouts defended their decision, saying it was necessary to agree on an international level playing field rather than just an EU agreement. The finance ministers, however, agreed on one step to fight tax evasion that Luxembourg and Austria had also held up in the past. They agreed to direct the European Commission, the EU's executive branch, to begin talks on an automatic exchange of banking information with five small countries that aren't EU members - Switzerland, Andorra, San Marino, Monaco and Lichtenstein. The deal would ensure EU citizens can no longer hide capital gains made there from tax authorities at home. "This is a big step for Austria and Luxembourg, and this should not be taken less than it is. And this is why Luxembourg and Austria didn't want taxes on interest rates. They didn't want to decide on that officially, but they agreed to negotiate a contract with those countries," German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said at a news conference. Spanish Finance Minister told reporters that there were calculations that showed around one (b) billion euro (1.3 billion US dollars) was being lost in terms of tax collection. "I do not know if it's true or not, but, certainly, tax evasion in Europe is important and fundamental and we cannot leave uncovered holes," he said. New IMF chief is another Euro-fanatic - Nigel Farage MEP

02:13
http://www.ukipmeps.org • European Parliament, Strasbourg - 6 June 2011 • Speaker: Nigel Farage MEP, UKIP, Co-President of the EFD Group in the European Parliament (Europe of Freedom and Democracy) • Debate: Commission statement (Commissioner Rehn) - Selection process of a new Managing Director for the IMF and external representation of the euro .................................. • Full transcript: Commissioner Rehn, I've been looking at the IMF charter, and there is nothing here that would surprise you. It's there to promote balanced growth, exchange rate stability to lessen disequlibrium, and to help countries that are in trouble. The classic method is, shore up the finances and organise a competitive devaluation. Nowhere in here does it say that the IMF is there to support political experiments. And in so many ways that's what Dominique Strauss-Kahn did. He used the IMF to help bailout the failing euro project and as such he was a very poor choice of candidate. And now you want to compound that by approving of Christine Lagarde, another member of the European political elite, another Euro-fanatic, somebody else who believes in propping up this euro project. And I would have thought, as she's got a vested interest, she is in fact a highly unsuited candidate - it's as if the EU has hijacked the IMF; that it's there now as part of the support mechanism for the euro. So it's not just the taxpayers of the eurozone and the non-eurozone EU members, now it's the whole world has to help prop up the euro as the Greek problem compounds by the day. Well I suppose in some ways you may well need her, because not only is Geece going bust, not only are we heading for the fourth bailout, but as I warned before in this assembly, the validity of the European Central Bank itself will very shortly be called into question. I've warned that you can't go on buying your own bad debt. But we've reached the point where within weeks we may well see that the ECB itself is insolvent, so perhaps your friend Mrs Lagarde could help bail that out as well. I would've thought this is a very bad choice. The international community at some point will tell you where to get off. Perhaps not just quite yet. ...................... • Video Source: Speech - EbS - European Parliament ...................................................... • EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom
