10 Things The World Is Running Out Of
The world is our oyster. Well, unfortunately, that’s the attitude that we have had for far too long and it’s the very attitude that has put us in a rather regrettable situation when it comes to some of our natural resources. Are We Running Out of Resources?
Prof. Steve Horwitz addresses the common belief that the world is running out of natural resources. Instead, there are economic reasons why we will never run out of many resources. In a free market system, prices signal scarcity. So as a resource becomes more scarce, it becomes more expensive, which incentivizes people to use less of it and develop new alternatives, or to find new reserves of that resource that were previously unknown or unprofitable. We have seen throughout history that the human mind's ability to innovate, coupled with a free market economic system, is an unlimited resource that can overcome the limitations we perceive with natural resources. Humans Have Used Up All of Earth’s Resources For the Year
Humans have exhausted a year's supply of natural resources in less than eight months. Earth “Overshoot Day” marks when our demands on the planet exceed its ability to regenerate resources. The world's population is currently consuming roughly 1.6 planets a year and with current deforestation, soil erosion, water stress, consumer consumption and a booming population, The Global Footprint Network estimates that the figure should rise to two planets by 2030. Eliot Hill and Mark Shovel discuss our carbon footprint on The Lip News. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/aug/12/humans-have-already-used-up-2015s-supply-of-earths-resources-analysis Newest Lip News playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N47WyhJNDXU&index=1&list=PLjk3H0GXhhGcjJDo6cQBCQprDMQyUQY3r BUZZSAW interview clips - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA1IbcsMQBQ&index=1&list=PLjk3H0GXhhGeWhHPas6M9sKUhThquDNOc CRIME TIME clips playlist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGLOmIcPMO4&index=1&list=PLjk3H0GXhhGeC9DbpSnIvd2i9BHh2dBvv BYOD (Bring Your Own Doc) Highlight Videos- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF_hdkdBf-Q&index=1&list=PLjk3H0GXhhGeu2DCf6Ouo7hTsA5QB2MAL MEDIA MAYHEM short videos playlist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0_Rjqy9zqY&index=1&list=PLjk3H0GXhhGcz4un-zws5sMlCLk3NNjDP https://www.facebook.com/thelip.tv http://www.youtube.com/theliptv

Only 100 years left on earth - Depopulation Agenda - World Running Out of Resources
Subscribe to: OFF GRID WITH BRAD AND KELLEY https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXSn4AfNf9ELiiScECfB8xg Renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has long held that humans only have 100 years to find a new planet. While Hawking holds fast to his theory, he says there is still hope if humans can find a way to colonize another planet. “We must also continue to go into space for the future of humanity,” Hawking said during a 2016 speech at Britain’s Oxford University Union. “Although the chance of a disaster on planet Earth in a given year may be quite low, it adds up over time, becoming a near certainty in the next thousand or ten thousand years...by that time we should have spread out into space, and to other stars, so it would not mean the end of the human race" Research: https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/nation-now/2017/05/04/stephen-hawking-test-his-theory-humans-must-leave-earth-lets-hope-hes-wrong/310545001/ https://www.thestar.com/entertainment/2017/05/05/stephen-hawking-says-apocalypse-is-near-but-we-wont-let-that-distract-us-menon.html https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/3464612/stephen-hawking-warns-that-we-must-leave-earth-in-100-years-if-humans-are-to-survive/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/05/02/tomorrows-world-returns-bbc-startling-warning-stephen-hawking/

HSBC Bank Warns That Earth Is Running Out Of Resources
According to a report by Business Insider, one of the world's largest banks claimed that the planet is running out of resources and warns that neither governments nor companies are prepared for climate change. A group of analysts at HSBC claimed that the world spent its entire natural resource budget for the 2018 by August 1st, citing research from the Global Footprint Network. HSBC analysts reportedly said, "In our opinion, these findings and events show that many businesses and governments are not adequately prepared for climate impacts, nor are they using natural resources efficiently." https://www.businessinsider.com/hsbc-warns-earth-is-running-out-of-resources-for-life-2018-8 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Peak Theory : We Are Running Out of Everything
Humans are known for their shortsightedness. This takes it to the next level. Without humans even noticing, the world is slowly depleted of its resources, throwing us into an uncertain future where we might no longer have anything. See below for corrections! --- Note for commenters from the last video: Thanks for the feedback on my previous video! I think I've made some steps to avoid the problems that I had in the last video. Also, I got a new microphone, so that certainly changes the quality of the recording more. --- Music Used: "Atlantis" by Audionautix (looped) Video sources: 1. The country that I had highlighted to show Morocco turns out to not be Morocco but actually Algeria. My bad. Credit : Peter Anderson Disclaimers: - The car analogy might probably fail if cars today use some smart technology to control fuel usage, especially with respect to cruise control and whatnot. I'm using an overly simplified explanation of how a car works so as to not alienate people who aren't automobile engineers. - Yes, I am aware that plastic is made from oil, and therefore is formed from a depleting resource. Except when you actually look at the numbers, if we used oil purely for only plastic manufacturing purposes, it wouldn't be depleting nearly as quickly. Also we've found substitutes for petrochemical-based plastics. It's a long winded argument, but any substitute to metals working as pipes is better than metals as pipes. - I might still be wrong about a lot of things. The peak mineral theory is a wildly diverse and actually quite a controversial topic even in academic circles. So if you think I went wrong somewhere, keep in mind there's only so much nuance an 8 minute video on YouTube can hold. That said, if you think I was wrong, please mention so in the comments. ============================ Jrypbzr gb gur svefg pyhr bs gur chmmyr. The End Of The Oil Age, How Much Is Left And What Will Happen When We Run Out
Imagine the day when the world is turned up side down, when mankind is plunged in to a mad max style future, a dystopian future of war, famine and financial chaos. This is the day when the worlds most precious resource runs out. **REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE FOR MUCH MORE TO COME** FʘLLʘW THE VENDOR 101 Subscribe - https://www.youtube.com/c/TheVendor101 Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+TheVendor101 Twitter - https://twitter.com/thevendor101 What we use it for- Oil is the life blood that is pumped though our modern world, with out it we could not fly to popular holiday destinations, travel to work in the comfort of our vehicles or maybe even watch this video on YouTube, plus many more little perks of modern life. We rely on oil to power many applications within our lives and as of early 2015, the IEA Oil Market Report forecast the average demand would be 34 billion barrels of oil for the year. At this rate, how long can we go on pumping oil out of the ground without exhausting our supplies? Were does it come from- Oil is formed according to a leading theory, by dead organic material accumulating at the bottom of the oceans, riverbeds or swamps. Over time this material was gradually covered by sediment, Millions of years of this process caused the sediment to grow heavier and heavier, resulting heat and pressure which transforms the organic layer into a dark and waxy substance known as kerogen. Some types of kerogen gradually changed in to oil or natural gas and collectively these are known as hydrocarbons or fossil fuels. This process according to scientists probably takes at least a million years. How much is left- According to the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, there are 1.3 trillion barrels of proven oil reserve left in the world's major fields, which at present rates of consumption should last 40 years. This has meant that governments and oil companies have been forced to look for sources of oil in more difficult locations, such as the deep sea. However this requires intensive and costly processing. The challenge facing engineers is extracting the oil and gas from these deep locations. At present much of it is so difficult to get at that it actually takes more energy to extract it than it gives back in use. So there is plenty more oil available, it's just really hard to get to and find. What will happen to the world- Some peak oil theorists believe that we have already passed the point of maximum oil production, what is clear is that oil is getting harder to find and extract, and this is reflected in rising prices. Those price increases encourage users to decrease consumption and inventors to create alternatives. Most likely, petrol and diesel use will disappear by legal mandate once a clearly-superior alternative is developed. But what if a superior alternative isn't developed? What if we run out of oil, natural gases and run out of time to build nuclear power plants. What if we run out of energy to fuel our modern society's? What will happen to man kind? Well life as we know it would come to an end. All the everyday items made from oil would no longer be produced, Virtually all transport would stop and so would nearly all manufacturing. This would result in Food production coming to a halt, millions would freeze in colder climates and masses of people would be unemployed, meaning that they could not purchase the increasing costly price of the most basic foods. Eventually millions upon millions would starve to death. The replacements- However, thanks to extremely clever and persistent inventors, there are many other replacement energy technologies that are being used and are being developed. Hopefully, by the time we do finally run out of oil, then we will already have a superior alternative to the black gold. World Is Running Out Of Sand — Why There's Now A Black Market For It
If you're planning a beach vacation, you'd better get to it soon. An alarming statistic for you: 67% of Southern California beaches? GONE by 2100. All because of sand. Even if you don't think about the grainy stuff, you use it daily. You're reading this off something made with sand, looking at it through a screen made with sand, surrounded by buildings made with concrete. I could let you guess what's in concrete, but I suspect you're already catching onto a theme here. SAVE OUR PLANET - Earth's natural resources will run out in four days
SAVE OUR PLANET... Earth's resources run out on August 21. Saying that humans are using more natural reserves than nature can give, environmental advocacy group, Global Footprint Network, has calculated that our resources are being used at a rate more than 30% higher than what nature has available. As such, all global resources have been consumed as of August 21, with everything used after today such as water, crops and products from the forests leaving an Earthly deficit. The scientists estimate that at this rate, reserves will be 100% depleted by 2040, which would be catastrophic. Italian scientist Roberto Brambilla, who is affiliated with the research, has stated that the keys to a better balance include eating less meat, riding a bicycle and using sustainable energy sources. Our appreciation Dr. Brambilla and Global Footprint Network for this unique view of our current dis-harmony with the planet. Let us all act quickly to preserve both resources and lives by finding ways to live in balance with the Earth.

The rest of the world would be empty. -The rain forest is being destroyed at a rate of 1.3 percent each year. The area of secondary forest is increasing by more than 4 percent yearly. - "Our planet is not running out of water, nor is it losing water. There's about 360 quintillion gallons of water on the planet, and it's not going anywhere except in a circle. Earth Overshoot Day: Planet consumes year's worth of resources in just seven months
Earth Overshoot Day: Planet consumes year's worth of resources in just seven months. Earth Overshoot Day is the date when we have effectively consumed more resources than the planet can naturally replenish over the course of that entire year. The day has shown a trend for appearing earlier and earlier since its inception - and today marks its earliest recorded point. It means the planet has already consumed a year's worth of resources in just seven months. Humanity is now consuming the Earth's natural resources at around 1.7 times faster than they can be naturally replaced - essentially this means an increasingly unsustainable way of life. An overshoot day can be calculated for an individual country - the earliest national overshoot day was Qatar (9 February) and the latest was Vietnam (21 December). The UK passed its national overshoot on 8 May. The current deficit in natural resources is made possible by sacrificing more natural resources and accumulating waste, mainly carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, within the atmosphere. In order to determine the date of an Earth overshoot day the Global Footprint Network, an international think tank, calculates the number of days that Earth's biocapacity - the ability to renew what people use - can support humanity's ecological footprint. The think tank has identified four key areas that could help in pushing the date back in the future. Some of the suggestions that could potentially shift the date back include: rethinking the way we heat and cool our cities, making a move towards renewable energy sources, enjoying a local, vegetable-based diet and focusing on smaller families. A campaign on social media to #MoveTheDate, also run by the Global Footprint Network, aims to raise awareness and encourage everyone to think about their own footprint. An online footprint calculator is available from the group so that people are able to calculate their own overshoot day. Fuel and time are running out: The AFS Concept
The Earth is running out of it's natural resources, and this presents a problem - so much we do in our lives relies upon the existence of fossil fuels, and as such, with the rising prices of fuel, this will cause more and more problems. AFS are working towards, and have proved a carbon neutral synthetic fuel which could, along with other solutions available, go some way to solving the dependence upon the declining resources our planet has available.

The Crash Course - Chapter 23 - The Environment - Depleting Resources
Why scarcity will define the future. When we wander over to the third E in this story – the Environment - we note two things: both the increasing demand of exponentially more resources being extracted from the ground and exponentially more waste being put back into various ecosystems. Because we are trying to assess here whether we can justify ever-increasing amounts of money and debt, for now let's just concern ourselves with the resources we take from the natural world to support our global economy. Oil is not the only essential resource that is fast becoming more expensive to produce, harder to find, or both. In fact, we see an alarming number of examples depletion of critical resources that almost exactly mirror the oil story. First we went after the easy and or high quality stuff, then the progressively trickier, deeper and or more dilute stuff. The bottom line is this: we, as a species, all over the globe, have already mined the richest ores, found the easiest energy sources, and farmed the richest soils that our Environment has to offer. We have taken several hundreds of millions of years of natural ore body, fossil energy deposition, aquifer accumulation, soil creation, and animal population growth -- and largely burned through them in the few years since oil was discovered. It is safe to say that in human terms, once these are gone, man, they’re gone. So, if we are getting less and less net energy for our efforts, and the other basic resources we need to support exponential economic growth are requiring a lot more energy to extract because they are depleting, then does it make sense to keep piling up exponentially more money and debt? Isn't it just common sense to observe that money and debt have to exist in some sort of relationship and proportion to primary and secondary wealth?
