Scientists Finally Discovered the Truth About Easter Island

10:09
We all know that the easter island heads have bodies – that’s not a mystery at all. But how did the easter island population build hundreds of statues? Scientists have recently solved this mystery and discovered where these people disappeared to and why. For many decades, people's minds have been occupied with the mystery of Easter Island. A remote piece of volcanic soil, far away in the Pacific Ocean... But our planet hosts thousands of such lonely islands, what is so particular about this one? The mystery is concealed not in the island itself but giant stone statues covering it. Who created the world-famous huge stone heads? Did they serve any specific purpose? Where did their creators arrive from and where did they disappear? Well, it seems the answer is finally just around the corner! TIMESTAMPS What do we know about Easter Island? 1:05 Amazing facts about Easter Island 2:18 How have the statues been moved around the island? 5:25 How could create Easter Island monuments? 7:24 What happened to people on Easter Island? 8:09 SUMMARY - Where is Easter Island located? Rapa Nui (which is the name given to Easter Island by its first inhabitants) is the territory of Chile and is situated in the southern Pacific Ocean. And it is so, so far that you can easily consider it one of the most distant places on the world's map. It lies 1,200 miles away from Pitcairn, which is its closest neighbor. - What's the main secret of the statues? Most statues (834 out of 887) were carved from the material called tuff which is, in fact, compressed volcanic ash. Curiously, all the statues except one group face inland. It means their backs are turned to the ocean. Perhaps the reason for that was the belief that the statues were the protectors of the villagers that's why they overlooked the settlement. The only statues not fitting into this pattern can be found at Ahu Akivi, a sacred place for the people of Rapa Nui. - Theories about how the statues had been moved. One of the most popular ones among the lovers of mysteries was the belief that the statues had been created and moved by aliens. But even if you like this theory, we are sorry to debunk it. The stone the statues were built from originates from the island itself. The birthplace of most of the material was an extinct volcano situated in the north-east of Easter Island and not another planet. - A new study about the island. A new study has been conducted recently to specify the maximum number of the inhabitants in the heyday of the island's civilization. The results arrived, and they were quite unexpected. It turned out that as many as 17 and a half thousand people could comfortably live on the island. At least 19 percent of the land could be covered with the fields of sweet potatoes that used to be the main source of food for the population. What is more, the islanders consumed quite a lot of seafood and fish. - Why did people on Easter Island disappear? At first, it was believed that the reason for such a decrease of the population was an ecocide. The natives cut out large forests and palm trees making spare room for moving the statues around as well as agriculture. They thought the trees were going to grow back fast enough. It was a misleading concept. The deterioration of the environment resulted in hunger. And this, in turn, led to wars and cannibalism. Nowadays, however, such a theory has been proven wrong. First of all, Rapa Nui inhabitants seemed to be very talented agricultural engineers. They deliberately fertilized the fields with the volcanic rock. In fact, another research has shown that people had been living on the island for many centuries. And the population only started to decrease when Europeans began visiting. Don't Study Conjugations And Declensions

05:04
Visit https://www.LingQ.com My Blog: http://blog.thelinguist.com/ My Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/lingosteve My Twitter: https://twitter.com/lingosteve Transcript: Hi, there, Steve Kaufmann, here. Today, I want to talk about conjugations and declensions. I talk here about language learning. If these videos interest you, please subscribe. You probably know that I’m a co-founder of LingQ and if you want to work on your languages, come on over and visit us at LingQ. One of my experiences in language learning early on was that the deliberate study of declension tables didn’t work for me. First of all, for those who don’t know, conjugations are the list of different verb endings that change, depending on person, number and, of course, tense and so forth. So verbs in many languages change quite a bit, depending on those conditions. Declensions, that’s how the nouns and adjectives change. So in many languages, ideally, you have to be able to use the correct form, the correct ending for these verbs, nouns and adjectives. Many people find that very difficult, so do I. The best way to get good at it, in my opinion, is not to get hung up on trying to memorize them. My German learning was severely, I would say, retarded by my effort to try to ace these tables. It’s just so different from what we’re used to in our own language in many cases, like if you were coming from English. In my experience, no amount of studying, reviewing or memorizing enabled me to learn these endings. However, when I decided not to try to ace the endings but rather to learn a bunch of words to try to understand the language, then I started doing much better because here was no longer this obstacle that I have to ace these endings before I can proceed in the language, I just proceeded in the language. I always use this proof that the deliberate study of the endings doesn’t help a lot and the example I use is in English, where the only ending that changes is the third person singular. He goes. It goes. It walks. It says. Yet, the number of learners who speak English very well and have been at it for 10 years or longer, even native speakers, use it go. Especially if the noun or the subject is separated a little bit from the verb, the s ending disappears and that’s in something as simple as the rules of conjugation in English. So the likelihood, to me, that you can ace it -- you can’t. I twittered a bit on this and got the usual reaction. Oh, no, I have to study the tables; otherwise…and so forth. I just don’t believe it. I think very often we think we’re learning something because we’re reviewing tables or reading the dictionary, but in my experience and I think for a lot of people it doesn’t really stick and it is an obstacle, it is something that intimates people. Eventually, you get used to it because you start to notice certain expressions. For example, in Russian the instrumental plural was the first one that clicked in because you heard it so often [Insert Russian], which implied that it was with somebody plural tense. That was one of the first that came. In French you get used to the fact naturally after a while through enough exposure. [Insert French] That’s a positive statement, ‘I think that it is’. But [Insert French]. It becomes subjunctive, so it’s a different again. This whole idea of the deliberate study of something is no guarantee you’re going to learn it. Now, I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t review these rules, getting back to my belief that noticing is the beginning of learning in language learning. So we have to start noticing things and, at first, you don’t notice. So to that extent, reviewing the grammar, going over the rules, and reviewing it again many, many times because the first time you forget most of what you look at. Nothing wrong with reviewing it from time to time, but studying it or reviewing it with the intent that you’re going to ace it, master it, in my experience has not been successful. That’s just a little more background to the tweet I put out the other day about learning conjugations and declensions. Don’t study them, just listen and read and get used to them. Bye for now.

Well, it looks like they’ve finally found the answer in their most recent research, the results of which were published in the Nature Ecology and Evolution journal. Molecular paleopathologist Kirsten Bos and her team analyzed DNA extracted from the teeth of Aztec remains buried in what is now southern Mexico. They worked with 29 human skeletons, using the latest scientific research methods, and they found traces of the salmonella enterica bacterium! We’ve all heard of salmonella, the bacteria known for causing food poisoning. Nowadays it takes most people 4 to 7 days to recover from it on their own, but in Aztec times, things were quite different. As we know, this bacterium enters our bodies from contaminated food and water and mostly affects the gut. But finding it in their teeth means that it was spreading throughout their bodies and into their bloodstream. Who would’ve thought that something we don’t really give a second thought to today could be powerful enough to take down an entire empire! Top 10 Things That Would Happen if BEES DIED OUT

10:10
In the 1990s, beekeepers started recording major losses of worker honeybees during the winter months. Since then, there have been mass die offs in many of the other 4,000 species of bees. In 2006, the phenomenon was bestowed with the name colony collapse disorder. No one is exactly sure why the bees are dying off in unprecedented numbers, but some theories include the loss of flower meadows, varroa mites that eat the bees’ blood, climate change, and the use of pesticides. Thankfully, bees are a long way from becoming extinct. Which is good, because as this list shows, it could be disastrous for humanity. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 → → GET A T-SHIRT - http://shop.spreadshirt.com/toptenz →Top 10 Objects That Were Clearly Invented Just to Annoy Physics: https://youtu.be/0MVGeRa-vLo →Simon's VLOG: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvqt8j7DfPmveJp3UOk9XTg Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! Is English Really a Germanic Language?

09:45
Today we delve into the history of the English language and look at the Germanic, Romance, and other influences that have shaped the Modern English of today. @4:39 to 4:50 there's an error: the text should say "Middle English" not "Modern English". Both are true, but at that moment I'm talking about the changes from OE to Middle English. When researching this video I looked up the etymology of "in" and read that it's of Latin origin, meaning "into, in, on, upon". So I thought that it must have been one of the early borrowings into Germanic dialects that I mentioned in the video. But I went back and checked the source again, and I realized that the dictionary entry I was reading was for the PREFIX "in-", not the standalone word. The standalone word has always existed in the Germanic language family. And ultimately, both the Germanic and Latin words come from the Proto-Indo-European word "en".** http://facebook.com/langfocus http://instagram.com/langfocus http://twitter.com/langfocus http://langfocus.com Music: Main music 1: “Night Music” by Kevin MacLeod. The Real Story Of "Thugs Of Hindustan' | असली “ठग्स ऑफ हिन्दोस्तान” कौन थे?

12:17
these days, due to the movie "Thugs of Hindustan", these words have been the subject of discussion again. But look, the film is so fictional, but the real story of thugs those who have betrayed it is a lot of praise. Look in today you will tell all about these thugs about which you will get a lot of information on Google or YouTube, but we have collected the information from some books and made this video. Nowadays many people who studied in the history of India found that the British government many lies to hide history. In fact, the history of the British government was mostly written by British writers, and he used to do it only at the behest of British officers without any exploration. So a lot of sentences were changed. And this happened with the Thugs of Hindustan. They were not as if they were shown to them. They were those people who took the iron from the British to save their home. there were thugs who first opposed the British after slavery, that was the first revolutionary thugs in the country. who was Thugs of Hindustan? There was a caste in the forests surrounding the Kashaganj of today's Uttar Pradesh. They were completely dependent on nature and used nature property for their fertility. Those who regarded each tree as their god, who are known in history as thugs, these thugs were kept in the nose of the British rule. The main language of the thugs was Ramasi. Which was secret and symbolic. how Britishers defame them? The British wanted to capture the land of the thugs, for which they made a move and printed such books to spoil their image, This type of literature is called Atrocity Literature. One of these books is named "Confessions of a Thug", which was written by Philip Medoz Taylor in 1839, in which the thugs have been described as the infamous robber and the sad thing is that it is so far It is seen by linking to historical references associated with caste. Confessions of a Thug is the novel, in which the English word used (THUG) was later included in the English dictionary. Earlier none of these words were used in English. In the information about Philip's visit to Kasganj, Phillip came here from the bullock cart and he visited the cantonment made by British rule here. Philip wrote three versions of the Confession of a Thug novel, in which one version mentioned Kasganj. Fanie Pax, who came to Kasganj, also wrote a book on the thugs, whose name was Begum Thug and White Mughal. In addition, Kim E. Wagner was a professor in England, he also wrote on Kasganj's thugs and William Dalrymple also wrote on the thugs. His articles have been printed in foreign newspapers. British wanted to earn more money from India. Later, he conspired to cut down the jungle, which included Chandan trees. After this the British Parliament passed the Criminals Tribe Act in 1871. Captain William came to India from the UK in the year 1809 to know that people from his East India Company were slowly disappearing. the British Parliament gave financial support to many authors, so that they could write books against the thugs, to defame them, For this reason today the image of thugs has become wrong in front of the world. The British who called themselves very decent people came to earn just money in India. And he did a lot of work to eliminate the Indian culture. One of them was to eliminate the thug caste. British had not only defamed the thugs, they almost defamed every kind of Indian who lived in the forest like a thugs. In which the many states like Sansi, Madhya Pradesh and Bhil in Rajasthan, Mewati in South Haryana and Rawat-Mehrat in Rajasthan had declared the Criminal Tribunal. But the truth is that after British occupation in the cities, when the British turned to the jungles, they had to face strong opposition from these tribes, including Haldba Tribe, Pahadiya Sardar, Koli Mahadev Tribe, Tamaras, Khond, Santal, Bhil There were many tribals like Lushai, Koya, Sinteng. It clearly shows that the British had regained control over the civil civilization, but India's main economic wealth was in the forests which had the right to the tribes, and it was not so decent or foolish that the British Let's kill your rights. On one hand, people living in the cities, where they were not able to understand what the British have, the people of this tribe what the British wanted. After a long struggle between the British and the thugs, they managed to achieve its intentions. He started a literary career in his favor and created a history which declared the heroic and innocent nature's children as anti-human, and gave them the term "thug" for centuries.
#EsperantoLives and Helps Make Cultures and Languages Sustainable - English & Esperanto

04:35
Esperanto Lives and Helps Make Cultures and Languages Sustainable ‎Esperanto Vivas kaj Helpas Igi Kulturojn kaj Lingvojn Daŭripovaj - in English and Esperanto - en la angla kaj en Esperanto All cultures and languages need to be sustainable. We need to understand and study other languages and cultures, their people, and their diversity, to see others who are different and accept them for the values they represent. Languages and differences give cultures their authenticity. Humanity consists of colorful variations with a multiplicity of flavors. And that multiplicity gives humanity its beauty, which we so greatly need to appreciate and love. Cultures teach us how to live to the fullest extent possible. Languages give us the ability to peacefully communicate and relate to each other. Cultures are art, history and heritage; they hold our beliefs and values. They show us all of the ways to have joy and happiness in our lives. So let's embrace cultural diversity. Languages are the perception of the world. A language is the backbone of a culture, it connects people to each other, and provides them with a sense of belonging. Hundreds of languages disappeared in the last 20 years. Let's all strive and work to keep languages alive and well. Esperanto is a wonderful living international language. It's neutral and is used as a bridge language that puts everyone on an equal footing. Let's use Esperanto as a bridge from our culture to others, and thereby enriching our lives as we will understand and respect other peoples. Lets learn, understand and use Esperanto. Do ni brakumu kulturan diversecon. Written, spoken and subtitled by Scott Turton. Why Do People In Old Movies Talk Weird?

02:54
It’s not quite British, and it’s not quite American – so what gives? Why do all those actors of yesteryear have such a distinct and strange accent? Learn more at HowStuffWorks.com: http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/movies-film-channel.htm Share on Facebook: http://goo.gl/1j6yim Share on Twitter: http://goo.gl/4FoAQy Subscribe: http://goo.gl/ZYI7Gt Visit our site: http://www.brainstuffshow.com If you’ve ever heard old movies or newsreels from the thirties or forties, then you’ve probably heard that weird old-timey voice. It sounds a little like a blend between American English and a form of British English. So what is this cadence, exactly? This type of pronunciation is called the Transatlantic, or Mid-Atlantic, accent. And it isn’t like most other accents – instead of naturally evolving, the Transatlantic accent was acquired. This means that people in the United States were taught to speak in this voice. Historically Transatlantic speech was the hallmark of aristocratic America and theatre. In upper-class boarding schools across New England, students learned the Transatlantic accent as an international norm for communication, similar to the way posh British society used Received Pronunciation – essentially, the way the Queen and aristocrats are taught to speak. It has several quasi-British elements, such a lack of rhoticity. This means that Mid-Atlantic speakers dropped their “r’s” at the end of words like “winner” or “clear”. They’ll also use softer, British vowels – “dahnce” instead of “dance”, for instance. Another thing that stands out is the emphasis on clipped, sharp t’s. In American English we often pronounce the “t” in words like “writer” and “water” as d’s. Transatlantic speakers will hit that T like it stole something. “Writer.” “Water.” But, again, this speech pattern isn’t completely British, nor completely American. Instead, it’s a form of English that’s hard to place… and that’s part of why Hollywood loved it. There’s also a theory that technological constraints helped Mid-Atlantic’s popularity. According to Professor Jay O’Berski, this nasally, clipped pronunciation is a vestige from the early days of radio. Receivers had very little bass technology at the time, and it was very difficult – if not impossible – to hear bass tones on your home device. Now we live in an age where bass technology is booms from the trunks of cars across America. So what happened to this accent? Linguist William Labov notes that Mid-Atlantic speech fell out of favor after World War II, as fewer teachers continued teaching the pronunciation to their students. That’s one of the reasons this speech sounds so ‘old-timey’ to us today: when people learn it, they’re usually learning it for acting purposes, rather than for everyday use. However, we can still hear the effects of Mid-Atlantic speech in recordings of everyone from Katherine Hepburn to Franklin D. Roosevelt and, of course, countless films, newsreels and radio shows from the 30s and 40s. J.R.R. Tolkien's imaginary languages - by Edward Vajda, WWU Linguistics Program director

50:41
J.R.R. Tolkien, wildly popular for his authorship of the fantasy trilogy "The Lord of the Rings," was by profession an unprepossessing Medievalist and historical linguist. In this lecture, delivered at Western Washington University Nov. 14, 2012, Edward Vajda, a professor in the Modern and Classical Languages Department at Western, discusses "Tolkien's Imaginary Languages." Tolkien's extensive knowledge of world languages both ancient and modern lent itself to his creation of the artificial languages that add so much realistic depth to his fictional writing. Vajda's presentation will describe the languages Tolkien created for his Middle Earth by revealing their connection with the actual spoken languages he studied during his academic career. Watch this lecture to explore the ingenious sound symbolism and etymological connotations employed by this master storyteller—and learn a great many things about the real languages of Eurasia along the way. World Wide Civilization Ancient Space Time Language Geometry Part 1

05:02:08
Ancient number systems found in the 64 hexagram I'ching, and the mayan baktun calender are examples of vortex mathematics, a geometrical space-time language that is described by James Churchward as the most ancient language. This ancient language is also described by Kurt Schildmann, a language called pre-sanskrit or proto-sanskrit, the only language that bridges all because it is found all over the world. If sanskrit is one of the most ancient languages then we must take seriously Tamil scholars who say Sumerian is archaic Tamil. There is evidence linking each ancient language and culture. From the Tamil Sumerian to Hindu and Mayan, from Mayan to Olmec, from Mayan to Hopi, from Sanskrit to Russian, from Hungarian to Sumerian, and many others showing that each descend from the Tamil/Sumerian as possibly the most ancient proto-language. An ancient proto-language that describes vortex mathematics and key harmonics also present in the size/proportions of ancient structures as well as their placement. This geometrical language is also present in the ancient structures such as stone henge and the pyramids which are analogs that encode space-time distance volume area that resonate with the platonic solids and precession of the equinoxes in perfect harmonics. Carl Munck's the code describes the key harmonics found in the division of the circle with the rational number pi, that the ancients are showing us the code of how reality manifests in geometry/angles/degrees. Bruce Cathie's Harmonic code shows another grid based on harmonics and reciprocals, that the placement of ancient structures is on the convergence of time-space points directly in resonance with geometry/mathematics. All of these systems are not only present in ancient languages, number systems, and measurement of time but also modern 'rediscoveries' of technology such as made by Tesla and vortex mathematics. This ancient number system is as simplistic as digital roots, squaring, and cubing that show the repeat of numbers that reduce to 9's, 6's, and 3's. Afterall, Einstein said that the number manifests in the geometry of space and time, energy equals mass times the speed of light 'squared'. From the harmonics of precession of the equinox to the average pace of man, a mile, one thousand paces. These space-time harmonics encode space-time-volume-area in perfect proportion, degrees, and angles in resonance with pi and phi. IMPORTANT Q Anon Rothschilds and possible Rothschild takedown

27:43
Q used to talk about the Rothschilds a lot. There was a series of curious coincidences and it sounded like the Rothschilds took some serious casualties. Then Q stopped talking about them and the Rothschilds stopped talking as far as I've been able to see (please let me know if you find proof of Roths being alive and free). I lay out the information about what Q said and give my speculation about what it means. This is an important Q video because I think it lays out the takedown of the 2nd side of the pyramid. It also shows their connections with a lot of other players. Most of the truth will be known when the IG report is fully unredacted but we have enough to have a pretty good idea of what is going on. Now to the links... Let me know if I missed any. There's a lot of stuff in this one. Zac Poonen - Being A Witness For God To Satan | Full Sermon

48:23
Zac Poonen - Being A Witness For God To Satan | Full Sermon Article The Defeat Of Satan The greatest battle that ever took place on this earth is not written about in any of the world's history-books. It was on Calvary, when Jesus through His death defeated Satan, the prince of this world. One verse that we should never forget in our whole life is Hebrews 2:14,15. I am sure Satan would not like us to know this verse. No one likes to hear about his own defeat or failure, and Satan is no exception. Here is the verse: "Since then the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He (Jesus) Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death (His death on Calvary's cross), He might destroy him who had the power of death that is the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." When Jesus died he made the devil powerless. Why? So that we might be forever free of Satan and the bondage of fear that he had put on us throughout our lifetime. There are many types of fears that people in the world have - fear of sickness, fear of poverty, fear of failure, fear of people, fear of the future etc., The greatest of all fears however is the fear of death. Every other fear is inferior to the fear of death. The fear of death leads on to the fear of what will happen after death. The Bible teaches very clearly that those who live in sin will finally go to hell - the place that God has reserved for those who do not repent. The devil also will spend eternity in the lake of fire, along with those whom he deceived and led into sin on this earth. Jesus came to the earth to save us from that eternal hell, by taking the punishment for our sins. He also destroyed Satan's power over us so that he can never harm us again. Remember this one truth all your lives: GOD WILL ALWAYS BE ON YOUR SIDE AGAINST SATAN. That is such a glorious truth that has brought so much encouragement and comfort and victory to me, that I wish I could go everywhere and tell every believer in the world about it. The Bible says"Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). The Name of Jesus is the Name at which Satan will always flee. The picture that most Christians have in their minds is one of Satan chasing them and of their running for their lives from him. But that is exactly the opposite of what the Bible teaches. What do you think? Was Satan afraid of Jesus or not? We all know that Satan was scared to stand before our Saviour. Jesus is the Light of the world, and the prince of darkness had to disappear from before Him. Jesus told His disciples about how He had seen the fall of Satan in heaven. And there, Jesus said, that Satan's fall had been "like lightning" (Lk.10:18), when God cast him out. When Jesus told Satan in the wilderness, "Be gone, Satan", he disappeared from Jesus' presence too at the speed of lightning. And when we resist Satan in the Name of Jesus today, he will flee from before us too at the speed of light. The darkness flees before the light. English Grammar: The Prepositions ON, AT, IN, BY

12:31
English for Beginners: Prepositions are short words that help us express location, time, and other relationships between people and things. Some examples of prepositions are: on, at, in, and by. Do you know how to use them? For example, do we say, "I am on a taxi" or "in a taxi"? Do you like to travel "in a plane" or "by plane"? After watching this simple but useful lesson, you will know exactly which preposition to use in any situation. Test yourself with our quiz: http://www.engvid.com/english-grammar-the-prepositions-on-at-in-by/ TRANSCRIPT I'm having a hard time reading on the train right now. Unh. Hold on. I'll start the lesson. Hi. James from engVid. Sorry, I was on the train. I want to teach you a lesson about four basic prepositions that we use in English that sometimes get confused, and I understand why, so I'll keep it basic. But because it's basic, it's going to be 80% correct. That's a good thing, that means you can go to the website and learn more from other lessons we have. But just know that sometimes there'll be exceptions, and I may not cover it here today. I'll even give you two exceptions to help you, but why waste time? Let's go to the board. Here's Mr. E. You'll notice he has a calendar, he has a clock, and: "You are here"? Oh, here. "Here" is a location. We're here right now, doing a lesson. That's the location: engVid. Let's go to the board and do the rest of the lesson, shall we? Here's: "at", "on", "in", and "by". "At". I love it because it's very specific, so you always know where you are, exactly. Problem: For transportation, "at" doesn't have anything. Hmm. So let's go to the next one. Let's go to "on". On. "On" is used for, let's say, large vehicles or large ways of travelling, such as buses... Sorry. Trains, buses, planes, and boats. I'll come back to boat in a second; it's an exception. On the train, on the bus, and on the plane, unless you're Bill Gates, Donald Trump, or me-I'm not in that list-you don't have your own train, plane, or bus, so you usually share it with a bunch of people or a few people. It's large. So we say: "You're on the bus", because it covers a big area, so there are many people sitting in that area. When I get to location, you'll see what I mean. Boat is a small exception. For many people in the world, they have their own boats because maybe they do fishing, or rowing, which is a type of boat that you go by yourself. In that situation, you can use "in". So, if the boat is small enough, say: "in": "I'm in a boat right now." But if it's a big boat, you have to say: "I'm on a boat." Another exception for the "on" rule is bicycle. You're always "on" a bicycle. I know, I said big vehicles, but remember: a bicycle is small, and it doesn't really have a motor or an engine, so we kind of give it its own thing, because you have to sit on the bicycle, and you can never really be in a bicycle. Is that good? Now, let's go to "in". "In" is funny because there are only two things for "in". "In" we use for car and taxi. The easy way to think about it is usually you own your own car; it doesn't belong to a group of people. People just don't get on your car every time you stop it, they go in and say: "Take me somewhere." And a taxi, well, when you're in a taxi, it is kind of your car. You pay the driver and you keep the car. So, this is one of those few cases where, because it belongs to me, I am in my car or I am in the taxi, because the taxi belongs to me as long as I pay the money. It's one of these funny exceptions. I don't know why, because you can put more people in a car, but I guess because you can actually own this transportation, it's yours. Think of it like the small boat. The small boat, one person is in it, you can be inside of it. All right? Cool. The last one we're going to do is "by". This is how you get there. So, "by" is different. When we talk about "in" and "on", you are... We are talking about how you are in the vehicle. Are you sitting on the bicycle? I can see you on it? You know, a boat is on water. But "by" just means: How did you get here? So, when someone responds to you with: "By car", "by plane", they're telling you how they got here. Not if they're in the plane, or on the plane. They are just... That's how they got there. So, how did I get here to do this video? Wouldn't you like to know. I'm kidding. I came here by car. So, yes, I was in my car and drove here, but I would tell somebody: "I got here by car, not by bus", and that would tell them the difference in the transportation I took. "How did you get here?" You like that? Good, so that's "by", this is how you did it; and the way you travelled is here, "in" and "on". Remember there is a small exception for small vehicles, so a small boat you can be in. Remember small. And a bicycle, you're always on the bicycle, because people see you sitting on it. We good? Excellent. Now, that is the lesson for transportation.

7 Facts about Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island is a small island in the Pacific Ocean located between Australia, New Zealand, and New Caledonia. Together with the two neighbouring islands Phillip Island and Nepean Island it forms one of the Commonwealth of Australia's external territories. 2. This tiny rocky outcrop in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is still technically a territory under Australian control, but its home to its own highly distinctive way of life. 3. Norfolk Island was settled by East Polynesian seafarers either from the Kermadec Islands north of New Zealand or from the North Island of New Zealand. They arrived in the thirteenth or fourteenth century, and survived for several generations before disappearing. They must have disappeared at least a few hundred years before Europeans arrived as the island was covered with forest by then. Norfolk Island began its colonial life as a penal colony and then became home to the Bounty Mutineers who the current residents are mostly decedents of today. 4. Norfuk or Norf'k is the language spoken on Norfolk Island (in the Pacific Ocean) by the local residents. It is a blend of 18th-century English and Tahitian, originally introduced by Pitkern-speaking settlers from the Pitcairn Islands. Along with English, it is the co-official language of Norfolk Island. 5. Kingston is the capital of the Australian South Pacific Territory of Norfolk Island. The vice-regal, legislative, administrative and judicial offices are all located in Kingston. The town is the second-oldest in Australia, and is of great historical and cultural significance to all Norfolk Islanders and other Australians. 6. To get there from the Australian mainland, there are only two flights a week from each Sydney and Brisbane and you have to fly from their international airports. Supplies from the mainland come via ship but once a month, and offloading the cargo can be quite an adventure due to the rugged coastline which requires large ships to anchor at least 1km offshore. 7. Thanks to the strict customs laws designed to protect the native ecosystem, there are no snakes on the island, nor are there centipedes, sand flies or fruit flies. As with virtually everywhere on earth though, there was no keeping the cockroaches out! While the wildlife is not so distinctive from elsewhere, there are 40 unique plant species, with the island the birthplace of that most famous of trees – the Norfolk pine. Fractal Jigsaw

Buy at http://www.laserexact.nl/product-categorie/puzzels/3d-puzzels-van-oskar-van-deventer/. Copyright (c) 2005, 2011, M. Oskar van Deventer. Fractal Jigsaw is an eleven-piece jigsaw puzzle. That sounds easy, wouldn't you think? It is not. All pieces look alike because of their fractal structure. The pattern is a hexagonal variation to the well-known Dragon's Curve fractal. The puzzle is also a powerful optical illusion. Even though the pieces are very large, they become invisible once they are put in place. You can buy this wonderful puzzle illusion here: http://www.laserexact.nl/product-categorie/puzzels/3d-puzzels-van-oskar-van-deventer/.
