Product Links in the description are typically affiliate links that let you help support the channel at no extra cost. There are 3 different ways to create artificial lights within Enscape. The first two are by adding lighting objects, and the last is by creating an emitter material. Let’s start by taking a look at the two lighting objects, pointlights and spotlights. You can add these to your models as objects by going up to the “Enscape Objects” button. This then gives you two different options. The first – a pointlight – is exactly what it sounds like – it creates a point within your model that shines a light in all directions. Basically all you do to add one of these is set a base point, then an actual location in 3D. You can see that this gets brought in to your model with a SketchUp object placeholder, so you can see how and where this light exists within your model. You can copy/paste these objects just like normal SketchUp geometry. In addition, you can also adjust the brightness of these objects within the Enscape “Objects” menu section. You can also hide or unhide these objects to turn them on and off. Finally, note that you can adjust the amount of light these objects produce by using the scale tool to adjust their size. One good way to create these lights in your model, like a lamp, then place a point light where the light bulb would go. Now, let’s talk about spotlights. The difference between point lights and spotlights is that spotlights have a direction – meaning they don’t just shoot light off in whatever different direction – they actually point at something – so you place these with a point, then you set a direction. You can still adjust the brightness, but for this tool, you can also adjust the beam angle, or the width of the cone of light that’s created. Note that when you adjust this, you can see the width of the light “Cone” within SketchUp. You can place these lights within a SketchUp component option so that you have geometry to go along with your light. Note that if you brighten these up too much, your materials will get washed out. Try to set your lights to accurate real-world brightnesses, then use the exposure brightness setting to make your model brighter. The last kind of light you can add is called an emitter material. This is not a light object, but more of a material/texture that creates light. You can adjust the settings for something like this using the materials editor (added in V2.2). Simply go to the option for self illumination and you can set the brightness, color, etc. I will note that I have not tested Enscape emitters with really high polygon items, so it might be a good idea to reduce the amount of polygons in your emitters for performance, but overall it seems to run much faster than an emitter in a static rendering program.

Easy light setup to improve your films

07:21
I have received a lot of questions about how to get most value out of DSLR cameras. There are several tips out there on how to do get those nice looking shots, but the main advice is to have enough light. By combining some good light setups, and nice camera compositions, you will be shocked on how much difference it will make. And it don´t need to be expensive or hard to do. I´ll show you in this video! For this project, you need a floor lamp. Some sort of tripod. A piece of aluminum paper, some tape and a window. Steps: Set the right exposure on the camera. First you open the aperture as much as the lens allows you. The lower the number is, the more open the aperture is, and the more light will pass through the lens. Then you should set the shutterspeed to 50, since that's the standard when filming. Since more light passes through the lens, we can lower the ISO, to avoid to much noise in the picture. The lower the ISO is, the less noise you get. In my opinion you shouldn't film with more then 400 ISO, unless you are filming with 5d mark III which doesn't produce that much noise. By using a window, we can get a lot of nice light, free of charge. Try to move the one your are filming, away from the background and closer to the window. He/her then gets more light from the window, which ables us to lover the ISO even further. By zooming in, we can also make the background blurry. The larger the aperture is, the shorter depth of field you get. Since I adjusted the aperture to f4.0, I get a blurry background. Just by doing these simple steps, we have already made a much better shot. Now it's time to set the white balance. Since the main light is appearing from the window, I will set the white balance to cloudy or daylight. If you prefer having the background even more blurred out, you can change to a faster lens. The larger the maximum aperture, the faster the lens is. And the faster the lens is, the shorter depth of field you get. Some prefer to use a really fast lens, and make the background very blurry. But remember that this makes it harder to focus on the subject. Another trick to make the background more diffuse, is to block the light from hitting it. Sometimes It's a good idea to use a blanket. Be sure not to block the light from hitting the subject. Find your tripod, or whatever tall object you find, and attach the aluminum paper with some tape. Try to bounce the light appearing from the window, so it hits the shadow on the persons face. Don't bounce to much light, or else the light on his/her face will get to flat and boring. Its nice with a little bit of shadow. Now let's put up the lamp. Place it behind the person and point t towards his/her head. It will create a nice halo around the person. Remember to use a directional light, so you don't light up the background. What we have created now, is a set up called three point lighting, which is typical for shooting portraits. The light from the window is the strongest hitting the persons face. Therefore it's called the key light. The bouncing light is called fill light, because it soften the shadows on the other side of the face, and the backlight is called backlight. The last thing you can do before recording, is to clean up the background and add practical light. A practical light is light source that is visible within a scene. Practicals are nice to both make the background more interesting, and it makes the light we put up more credible. So that's an easy and cheap way to make a three point lighting. Try it yourself. LED recessed lighting is a popular home interior and exterior light fixture choice. View More Bathroom Design Ideas & Accessories For Remodeling: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLutcv_K54jW1FIhbZqupTgdFR3X27vpvj In the video here, the bathroom lighting solution is to install flush mount ceiling light cans and installing led light bulbs. When considering lighting options for bathroom remodeling ideas, recessed lights should be on the list. For small bathrooms with low ceilings, the overhead space savings will be appreciated and will make the space look bigger versus those that use hanging fixtures. You can also think about bathroom exhaust fans with lights. For a cleaner look, there are also recessed lighting fixtures for bathroom installs that have small integrated LED light bulbs in them. These are easy to mount and get up and running, but may be harder to replace as the bulb sizes are specialized. The A19 base for the ones in the video can accept all types of light bulbs, not just those with LED technology. The LED light bulbs used here are 12W, 60W equivalent bulbs. They are A19 mount EcoSmart bulbs. These use 80% less energy than incandescent bulbs, are shatter resistant and can last 22.8 years (based on 3 hours/day on); 800 lumens / 25,000 hours are other specs that may be interesting to those that are looking to save some money in the long run. These bulbs are much more expensive than CFL and incandescents, but last longer and will save money. LED lights are the popular and modern options of the moment for indoor and outdoor lighting. This in combination with recessed lights gives an energy-saving modern look in any room of the house. One option to conventional bathroom light fixtures and incandescent light bulbs for modern bathroom remodeling in the bathroom lights department is LED recessed lighting. Lighting Ideas for Modern Kitchens | Marble.com

02:41
One of the most widely discussed aspects of interior design is lighting. The amount and type of light a room gets can greatly affect the space. There are a few different ways you can use lighting in combination with the color selections for your cabinets and countertops to create a warm and inviting space. The color of the stone and cabinets you select can affect the look of a room. If a room doesn’t receive a lot of natural light, using bright colors will help to both brighten your kitchen and make the room look more spacious. Alternately, using darker colors in a space with little natural light will make a room look more constricted. If you have a lot of natural light and elements seem far apart, using a darker color can bring elements of the room together. Another great way to utilize light to your advantage is to buy lighting in specific color temperatures to match the room. Lightbulbs generally come in any of 3 ranges of color temperature - “warm white,” “cool white,” and “daylight.” Warm White lighting produces calm, relaxing light. Cool White creates a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Daylight is a crisp, vibrant light. Each can be used in any type of room, and can look great in the right conditions. You can even light a room to add emphasis to a main focal point of a room, like a kitchen island. Additionally, today’s advanced technology makes lighting for a specific space even easier, with the onset of Smart LED light bulbs, which can be programmed to various tones of white as well as over 16 million colors, all from a smartphone or tablet. These can be more expensive than your average lightbulb, but the features these bulbs are capable of, along with their much greater lifespan and higher efficiency, make them a worthwhile investment, much the same way natural stone is a great long-term investment into your home renovation. Ultimately, there are numerous ways lighting can be used make a space more inviting and spacious. Start by choosing the a color combination of stone countertops and cabinets that you love, and then build around that. Utilize both the available natural light, as well as the numerous lighting options to really make your space shine. --- Visit our website: http://www.marble.com/ Check out our new video site: http://www.tv.marble.com/ Subscribe to Marble.com TV Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/marbletvchannel Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/marbledotcom Follow us on Instagram: http://instagram.com/marbledotcom Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Marbledotcom Follow us on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/marbledotcom/ Buy stone care products from MrStone.com: http://www.mrstone.com/index.php?main_page=index Subscribe to Granite Shorts: https://www.youtube.com/user/GraniteShorts Watch our Featured Videos https://www.youtube.com/user/marbledotcom/featured Watch our Featured Videos from MrStone.com: https://www.youtube.com/user/mrstonedotcom Marble.com would like to thank you for watching our video and please feel free to leave comments. Weddings: Creative Lighting Options

01:34
Weddings: Creative Lighting Options - as part of the Wedding series by GeoBeats. Some creative lighting options for weddings and events are, one thing I really like is having a gobo which is a custom monogram that is created just primarily for your event or for your wedding per say. In this image, you have a T and an M which represents the bride and the groom. This was custom made and projected on to the dance floor. You can also project it on to a wall, ahead table a wall, but some flat surface where it's not shinning on a person. Another great way to incorporate light is candles. I mean candles can really add that ambiance that you are looking for. In this scenario we added candles in martini glasses. It was a great way to bring in light and ambiance without over doing it. And some venues, as you may know, have restrictions on open flame. So what do I get around that is by using this battery operated light. You can use this in any scenario, in a vase. In this case, I really love these globes. I turn them on and I then just put them in here, and then you can put a fishing wire on it, and then hang it on a ceiling. You can hang it on a huppa if that is what you want, but this is a very easy and efficient way to bring in light and bring in some cuteness to your wedding.

Top 3 Continuous Lighting Options for Product and Flat Lay Photography or Videos

08:06
In this video we go through our Top 3 Continuous Lighting Options for Product and Flat Lay Photography or Videos We discuss our three different options including Compact Fluorescent Bulb Double Softbox Lights, Aputure AL-528W LED Panels and the Spectrum Aurora Gold Luxe LED Ring Light. When taking product photos or flat lays, it's important to get the lighting right for an evenly lit shot. Different continuous lighting options provide different results. A quick breakdown of the three we recommended include: Compact Fluorescent Bulb Double Softbox Lights Pros - Relatively inexpensive solution - Large softbox for a soft throw of light and less harsh shadows - Ideal for small or large products / flat lays Cons - Not as energy efficient therefore bulbs don't last as long - Produce a little heat when left on for extended periods - Not dimmable - simple on/off switch Aputure AL-528W LED Panels / LED Panels in General Pros - Energy efficient and about 8-10x longer lasting that fluorescent bulbs - No heat production when left on for extended periods - Can be battery operated / portable - Dimmable to control the light intensity Cons - More expensive than fluorescent bulbs - Harsher light if not used with softboxes or a light a diffuser Spectrum Aurora Gold Luxe LED Ring Light Pros - All the advantages of LED panels with being more energy efficient, no heat production, can be battery operated and dimmed - Some LED Ring lights are colour temperature adjustable between 3200-5500k so you can fine tune the colour temperature to suit the shot - The round catch light provides a nice even light for most shots. - Being a ring shape, it allows you to shoot through the ring light without obstructing the light and create shadows. Cons - Since the ring light is direct light onto the subject (typically positioned front and centre), reflections and hot spots are more prominent on reflective items. Diffusers are available to avoid this Overall we find that LED Panels and the Spectrum Aurora LED Ring Light provides the ideal continuous lighting solution for most product photography and flat lay photography scenarios. Being able to control the intensity of the light, not producing heat when used for extended periods and the ability to be battery operated to use on-location or outdoors if required make LED lights versatile for most situations. How to Add Automatic Lighting to a Closet

06:53
Watch the full episode: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/tv/ask-toh/video/0,,20965952,00.html Lighting expert Scott Caron shows a homeowner how to brighten up a dark closet and never have to flip on a light switch. (See below for a shopping list, tools, and steps.) Shopping List for How to Add Automatic Lighting to a Closet: - 14-gauge, 2-conductor indoor, non-metallic wire - T-5 fluorescent light bulbs - Ball switch - Motion-activated light switch - Electrical junction box - Plastic old-work electrical box - Low-voltage wiring - Transformer switch Tools for How to Add Automatic Lighting to a Closet: - Wire cutters - Screwdriver - Power drill - Wire connector nuts - Sliding saw - Spade bit Steps for How to Add Automatic Lighting to a Closet: 1. Find an existing power source near the location of your closets and shut off the power. 2. Cut the current power source line with wire cutters. 3. Add in an electrical junction box. 4. Splice new 14-guage wires to the old connection using pliers and wire connecting nuts. 5. Locate space between the studs in the ceiling and drill a hole using the power drill. This will be the location for the switch. 6. Place two pieces of 14-gauge wire down the hole to the closet location behind the drywall—one to power the switch and one to power the fixture. 7. Drill a second hole in the ceiling where you want your light fixture to go. 8. Feed one of the 14-gauge wires through the hole and make the electrical connections to the light fixture using pliers and wire nuts. 9. Cut out a square hole in the closet drywall using a jab saw. 10. Feed both sets of wires through the plastic old-work electrical box, then install the box in the hole by tightening the screws in the box to secure it to the drywall. 11. Splice the wires together with pliers and wire nuts and add in a spare piece of wire to serve as a connection to the switch. Connect the motion-activated light switch to these wires using a screwdriver. 12. If using a ball switch instead of a motion-activated switch, only one power wire can be fed from the power source. A transformer is connected to the light fixture to convert 120 volts to low voltage, then low-voltage wires are fed from the transformer to the ball switch. 13. To install the ball switch in the doorjamb, drill out a hole in the frame of the closet door using a power drill and a spade bit. Insert the ball switch and low voltage wiring through the framing. You’ll likely have to take off the trim and nail it back on. 5 Biggest Lighting Mistakes - Bedroom Lighting

00:47
http://www.1800lighting.com/ Another mistake people make is, if they buy a home, and it has a single outlet in the ceiling that they are going to use for a fan, they just put a fan and a light kit in there, and think they're done. You'll get much better light, and add to the beauty of the room if you leave the light kit off the fan, and put in four recessed lights in a standard sized guest or bedroom. It's better to add recessed lights when you're building the house than after, but retrofit recessed is easy to do as well. Add the fan, leave the light kit off, and put in retrofit recessed.
