But the key with content marketing is understanding that your results are directly tied to the quality of your content. So in this video I’m going to cover 5 easy to follow tips for writing great content. Tip 1: Keep It Clear, Concise, and Focused The most important thing you can do for your content is to keep it on point. Your potential customer found this content for a reason, whether through a search engine, or spotting a link that caught their attention. Their goal is to learn more about the subject you’ve headlined and you owe it to them to provide it. Tip 2: Edit, Edit, Edit Hammering out a 2,000 word article and hitting submit just shouldn’t happen. Even Hemingway was well known for disliking his initial drafts. Break up your editing into phases. Tip 3: Make the Content Actionable Talking about your success is fine, but what your customers really want to know is how they can do it too. By creating actionable content, you’re giving your audience things they can try immediately. Tip 4: Add Images Images can take a decent post and make it great. The key to shareable content is to find relatable graphics. Using stock photos for the sole purpose of using images may look better than a completely text-based piece of content, but it’s pointless if it doesn’t benefit the reader. According to Forbes, articles with images get 94% more views than articles without. That’s too large of a percentage to pass up on. Tip 5: Provide Answers No one wants to finish an article with more questions than they arrived with. Again, people are consuming your content for a reason. Remember that with your headline, you’ve made a promise to answer their question, so you need to be sure your content provides the answers they were looking for. Conclusion These tips may sound simple but that’s because they are. Writing great content isn’t reserved for the Shakespeares and Tolstoys of our generation. The analysis on how much money we're spending to generate the traffic and here's what's crazy, most people don't realize this, we generate, let's say a million visitors a month on Neil Patel. Do you know what the cost to get there is with video, production, podcasting, blogging, promotion, ads, link building? $110,000 a month. That's what it averaged out to for 2017. Here are my marketing strategies for 2018. I just bought a blog in the marketing space for a half a million bucks. They get a million visitors a month, and it's cheaper to spend money acquiring people who already have the traffic. So in 2017, I bought Uber Suggest, I think it was around 140 grand. They had very little traffic. I 381 redirected the site, traffic increased and guess what happened? Nothing. I hoped that my traffic would go through the roof, but nothing happened. Uber Suggest was a good acquisition and what I ended up learning from that is, who cares about links? Don't buy anything for the links. Buy it purely based off of traffic and just pay a simple metric. If Uber Suggest has roughly 200,000 visitors per month, I paid a hundred and something; I would have paid 200 grand, the money didn't matter. For a blog that I just spent half a million on, their traffic ranges. On a horrible month, they'll get around 800,000 uniques. In a perfect month, they'll get around, like, 1.2, 1.3 million uniques, and all I'm doing right now is buying as many blogs as possible. My marketing strategy for 2018 is to buy blogs based on of traffic. I look at the top posts that they have and how qualified their visitors are and determine if I can successfully monetize their content. I don't even care if they have revenue. If they don't have revenue, even better. The problem with Search Engine Journal is that they have conferences, they have advertising, and they have contracts for all of it. I don't care for any of that. I just want the traffic. So when you buy all these people for traffic and then you put it into your monetization flow, you can quickly figure out, what is this worth? If I can't make my money back in less than 12 months, I will not buy it. The other marketing strategy that I use when I'm buying these sites is to look for blogs that aren't monetized well. The blog that I ended up buying for half a million bucks, they're not even making three grand a month. If you're not even making three grand a month, that's a good deal, right? They're like; you're going to give me half a million dollars for this? No problem. Another creative marketing strategy I'm doing right now, is trying to buy a really popular marketing tool. I don't want to pay them all the money they're asking for because they want well into the millions, and it isn't worth it. But, I'm trying to work out a deal where I give them X amount of money up front, let's say a million dollars, and then give them a hundred thousand a month over X amount of months or a hundred thousand a year over X amount of years. When I see inefficiencies in sites, I figure I can purchase them and double the revenue because they aren't optimized for traffic or conversions. So buy it for what it's worth, optimize it, and then use the profits to pay them out continually. That way you're not using all of your money and the business is paying, you may have spent a bit more money, but personally, you don't have to spend as much money, and that's my marketing strategy for 2018. My goal is to spend at least $5 million acquiring businesses purely based on their traffic. Content Marketing Strategy -  The Power Of Consistent And Quality Content

No matter what business, market, or industry you’re in, there’s one strategy that time and time again produces serious results and a powerful return on investment. It’s not social media, online advertising, or SEO – those are just tactics. It’s also not Twitter, Google Analytics, or Video – those are just tools. No, the strategy behind these tactics and tools that I’m talking about is a commitment to consistently publish quality content and making creating branded content an important part of your overall promotion strategy. Which is why in today’s video we’re going to be talking all about the power behind a content marketing strategy, and how you can use it in your business. The businesses that make creating and publishing quality content a regular part of their routine are the ones that reap the rewards of: -Improved brand perception -Increased brand awareness -Increased customer acquisition -Thought leadership -Improved search engine rankings -Overall decreased marketing costs -And on and on and on. The benefits far outweigh the work involved and content marketing continues to prove itself as a dominant force to be reckoned with. What Is Content Marketing? Well my definition of content marketing as adapted from the Content Marketing Institute is that: “Content marketing is the strategy of creating and distributing valuable and relevant information to a specific target market with the end goal of driving profitable customer actions.” By this definition, anything you can think of to create for your customers can essentially be called content. These could be things like Blog posts, Articles, White-papers, Videos, Infographics, Podcasts, Webinars, and many more. You get the picture… The point to remember is that content marketing is a 2 part strategy. Creation is Step #1 and Distribution is Step #2 and both are necessary for a content marketing strategy to work. How Much Content Is Enough? While the strategy “more is better” certainly applies here, “more” also takes a lot of time. So the best thing to do is to focus on quality over quantity. If given the choice I would have to choose: Longer and less frequent content Over… Shorter and more frequent content. There are obviously massive exceptions to this rule, but the takeaway point is this: People, social media, and search engines tend to prefer longer form content, which usually provides more value. Also, Once a week posting is a great strategy to shoot for. The most important point is to pick a publishing date, and then stick to it. Compounding Value Just like compound interest, the sooner you start creating content the sooner you’ll start benefiting from the power of compounding value. As you create and build up content over time, you’re building a valuable and powerful asset of knowledge, information, resources, and material, which you can mine and extract from in the future. Once you create content, it’s yours forever.
